Bought it during this weeks 'Flash sale'; my first foray into the world of Shakespeare. Over the years have heard good things about King Lear, but I didn't particularly enjoy it. Probably helps if you have read/seen the play before, know what it is about, or can understand the ye olde language. And for those of us that listen to Big Finish - probably everyone here - it felt odd having Leela and Bernice Summerfield guest starring in it. Glad I gave it a go, but I won't be returning to William's plays. Am just not educated enuff. *before anyone points it out I know how to spell 'enough'*

Excellent! Bugger, just realised I haven't listened to Hamlet yet either. Guess what I'll be listening to over Halloween then ... Cheers Tony Which proves the forum's 'naughty word' filter doesn't speak Olde English! Definitely suitable Hallowe'en listening material -ideally it would have been out last weekend when Storm Brian "Contending with the fretful elements; Bids the wind blow the earth into the sea" but I'm sure the sound design will do the job impressively anyway! We could arrange to block any word we want to. Is it that bad?

A bit like The Avengers having Loki calling Black Widow a quim - which you can say in a PG now.

I was thinking of changing "Cheers" to "Crud" . Cheers Tony

Tried giving this a listen last night and this morning and....I don't know. I'm only 40 minutes in, but the language is so dense that I can't afford to let my attention drift for even a few seconds or else I'm entirely lost. I've already had to back up several times because of this, and it's become more frustrating than enjoyable. It's unfortunate as I quite liked Big Finish's take on Hamlet, but I don't think this one is for me.
