Well, remember Ian is now producing the Companion Chronicles and the Short Trips range - he's got a LOT more on his plate now than when he started admining he's got better things to do than settle argument after argument about whether Missy was a good idea or not!
Kris blamed the closure on a small group of troublemakers.

Kris blamed the closure on a small group of troublemakers. What about the timing of the closure, especially as he's in charge of PR?

Actually. I think it was a wise move.
Not popular... or indeed good for us... but a wise move

Me, right now, I just wish BF would contact us, even if just in reply to several emails sent to them asking things.
I can understand many things, but just outright not replying to us... that mystifies me.

Regarding the original forum closure - thanks for the replies. The information is very interesting. It's sad that a section of fans in part forced the closure to happen, but I suppose there will always be fans who seem perpetually geared to that sort of trouble-making. The reasons for the timing given are completely understandable and I appreciate them. Also, if the BF forum hadn't closed, there wouldn't be this place - and I love this place. I imagine BF are very pleased this forum exists - they could even mention it on their official page.
Regarding not replying to emails - that is something else entirely. I know someone who would have bought a lot of BF product if they had answered his question by email. They didn't bother, and so they lost out on quite a few sales. That side of things really does need addressing. Not just in terms of potential loss of cash, but out of general courtesy.

I don't really like to say this, but I am going to,
Big Finish lost much more than employee when poor spraggers died, a lot of the personal stuff went with him.
it had become obvious he was swamped with work around the 50th anniversary but someone who emails you at 10pm to check that the download you had trouble with at 9am was now working was very special.
now when you email you are lucky if you get a reply, and sales just ignore most emails. ask on facebook it refers you to email. terrible customer service these days.
it's took many people to try to replace what he did, just goes to show some people have a job and some special people have a way of life.
long live his memory

That was a few months ago bow, but it was very much appreciated. I'd hate to think that level of service has been dropped since then.

I've only had to email them once, and while I foind the contact info on the website realy unhelpful, I foumd the actual response to my mail really prompt and professional. I guess it's like anything else these days, it depends who deals with tour request, some people give better service then others and it is very difficult for small companies to handle staff who provide poor service.

Ian has been brilliant in sorting the subscriber extras into some proper schedule and the downloads are much improved, although not so hot on keeping the writers notes up to date! it's just I had a query about November time and my emails went unanswered from sales for over 2 weeks, once i email enquires it was sorted but that's not the way the website advises it's always email sales. but was really just making the point that spraggers was irreplaceable.

Absolutely understood. I didn't take your experience as having a go at anyone in particular, it was simply an unhelpful experience that you have aired. I'm sure anyone reading this from BF would appreciate what you were saying also. One of the things I have quickly to come to appreciate about this forum is a lack of personal or spiteful negativity, unlike other places.
