Just because there's no news yet, it doesn't rule out any follow-ups to those series, it just means that they might not be ready to annouce anything yet. I'm pretty sure someone said a couple of months ago that there were big plans for River, so I'm sure we'll get some River news at some point.

I'm sure there will be a Lives of Captain Jack Volume 2. I'd be shocked if there wasn't. Based on what? Captain Jack is hugely popular, and The Lives of Captain Jack has a Volume One at the end of its title in the complimentary download you get from buying physical.

I'm sure there will be a Lives of Captain Jack Volume 2. I'd be shocked if there wasn't. Based on what? I'm with DB. For me it's based on a number of factors, including Barrowmans fondness for the character and seeming willingness to do as much Big Finish as he can.

It'd be cool for more Yvonne, I guess but I'd be happy with the Torchwood brand to do the full-cast season 5 audios and keep the (normally) terrific standalone stories running alongside them. The three boxsets have all had their moments but they've been towards the bottom of the TW pile. The Jack box was cool partially because it felt like Doctor Who's Jack rather than Torchwood's where he tends to be broodier and more enigmatic. But hey, after the box I'd be happy with a set of adventures justor Jack an Jackie Tyler to join up.

I'd certainly like more, but it will probably take a back seat now Aliens Among Us is coming.

If the writers go with big high stakes storylines there's the risk that there'll be too much to stuff into such a short time period, like how some people don't like the Fifth Doctor stories with Erimem because they have to fit between Planet of Fire and Caves of Androzani. If Torchwood One is eager to locate the Doctor, then they'd notice him in 2005/2006 fighting plastic people, obese gasbags and killer Santas, or at least pick up that he showed up a lot at the Powell Estate. Torchwood One is supposed to be competent, so I'd credit them with the ability to identify and make use of patterns. Although Micky was given the program that would wipe the Doctor from the internet (didn't bother that LYNDA lot though). As for Lives of Captain Jack, my personal preference is that Big Finish tell stories that deserve to be told, not just for the sake of telling stories. Look at how Hex and Klein stayed long past their best by dates. The first volume covered most of the gaps Doctor Who presented independent of Torchwood, like what happened after Parting of the Ways, End of Time Part Two and finally answered the question of his missing two years (a mystery twelve years in the making). The only other gaps I can think of are Torchwood related (how he comes back for Miracle Day for example, but that seems to be a legal minefield), and Lives is a celebration of his role on Who.

That's not what I was saying though.

It's a stock / warehouse / distribution thing. Big Finish learned that lesson after Dark Eyes was asked to get a follow-up, hence why it's not called Dark Eyes 1. It's why the first Doom Coalition is called Doom Coalition 1. It helps that Doom Coalition was intended as a four box set arc from the outset.

Unless it fills in some Torchwood gaps, there aren't any Doctor Who ones left I can think of. Volume 1 covered the obvious gaps (post-Parting of the Ways, post-End of Time Part Two and the missing two years).

Seems to me parts of Jack's DW life could have dozens of stories set during them.

But I assume you mean you do want Face of Boe audios.

There's a gap between The End of the World and New Earth. Then New Earth and Gridlock. How does Jack die in Gridlock as Boe? I'd like to see BF explain that.

A genetic experiment trying to replicate his immortality. The clone gets a dodgy mental engram (mind print) and ages into a giant head calling himself the Face of Boe. {Spoiler} Nimrod and the Forge experimented with the Doctor's DNA for much the same purpose.
