Do we know that the Face of Boe actually is Captain Jack? It was offered as a wonderful possibility ten years ago on television. Is it absolutely necessary to destroy that mystery in another box-set? Some things, in my view, should just be left to speculation. Agree 100%. Just because you can do a thing doesn't mean you have to. Or should. Personally, I liked volume one but I didn't love it and I don't know that I need another. Precisely. The Eminance was scary in Seeds of War and Time's Horizon from the Dark Eyes 2 box set, but Dark Eyes 3 and 4 delved into its origin. This took away from the mystique of it. There's a story told in Omega where a Time Lord wanting to learn how things worked did so, and caused them to stop working. It's like a magic trick, being told how its done takes away from the wonder of the trick itself.

I'd still like to see Boe-kind feature in future stories, perhaps something in Tales of New Earth to explain how they all got wiped out.

There's a gap between The End of the World and New Earth. Then New Earth and Gridlock. Is there any reason to think it's a productive gap? As opposed to just the passage of time?
You could say the same about a dozen gaps where Big Finish have plaved hundreds of hours of wonderful audio. Obviously they should only do releases where they have a good idea for a story worth telling but I don't think all of those have been exhausted by a long way.

But DB is saying these gaps NEED to be filled. That's what I was querying. I don't object to stories set there (though Boe is not a storytelling voice) but I'm not sure there's the stated NEED exists.
