I'm talking about the cocaine demons, I mean sure there's already enough supernatural but couldn't it just be a story of drugs bringing about downfall?

It's pointed out in Running Away With You, but also displayed in Fallen King of Britain, that so many people are now behaving like Dorian has been, being hedonistic, that he doesn't stand out any more. He social circle in Fallen King is a great example of this, and Dorian is even making comparisons to when he started his descent.
It's not the last time the range will use ambiguity. One Must Not Look at Mirrors and Ever After use the trope big time. Plus most of the time we're getting Dorian's POV, so who knows how many times things actually happened the way Dorian recounts them.

Ambiguity is our friend If I haven't missed you, was there ever going to be a follow up to the free story Frostbite? Because it seemed to be leading into something bigger, but we never heard anything more about it. It's one of the only loose ends the range left dangling.

Honestly - it was commissioned as a small freebie, never intended as a tease or setup for anything. Just a curious Christmas encounter with another literary figure. We were all surprised when people thought it was a lead-in for something else... Once I saw that reaction, I did tie it in to the original plan for the very last episode - as it did actually fit with the original ending - but then we shook everything up last-minute and it remains the curio it was intended to be

Gives a huge impression there would be more to come.
