Interesting. Hopefully these will rapidly make their way onto a UK platform.
Hopefully they'll also be good quality.

I'm glad to see some love being directed at the missing episodes. I assume that since there's no specific mention of animation that it'll be a telesnap style reconstruction.
Also interesting that it's for "The Wheel in Space" since there were some wild rumors not too long ago about episodes of from that serial and "Marco Polo" being found. There's always rumors, of course, but "The Wheel in Space" is an important serial for Zoe's introduction.

I was just going to post about this. I have Britbox and am really looking forward to it, but I'm not really sure what a "reconstruction" entails. So far there hasn't been any details regarding if they will be screen shots, animated, etc. However, I'm looking forward to finding out!

It's certainly a strange/interesting development. And it could mean anything from primarily audio based recons (perhaps using the narrated soundtracks for added clarity) over a basic slideshow, through to more complex and ambitious reconstructions using motion effects, CGI, and/or animation, or indeed some point in between, or even something else entirely. It's also a bit interesting, in a conspiracy theory kind of way, that Philip Morris has been radio silent for almost two whole months now, at least on Twitter. Probably doesn't mean anything, but a fan can dream...

I think they are lying about it being a 'reconstruction' because no way are they going to show a telesnap recon at one of the biggest conventions in the world. It would look silly.
Either it's an animation or a missing episode/missing episodes has/have been found.

Either it's an animation or a missing episode/missing episodes has/have been found. You said telesnap, they didn't. I know that thanks to Loose Cannon that's what we tend to think, but all they've said it will be a segment of a reconstructed missing episode.

Showing a telesnap recon at the biggest TV and film convention in the world would be like me travelling from the UK to San Diego Comic Con and booking a hall for a slideshow of the pictures I took at the Olly Murs concert last night.

They've put the info on the Official DW FB Page still no word about what form of reconstruction it is or when/ how the UK can access it.

Guess I'll be getting a flight to America and showing my Scarborough Open Air Theatre pictures at San Diego Comic Con next year then. Daft decision.

So will they be releasing these on DVD at a later date do you think?

So will they be releasing these on DVD at a later date do you think? What's the point? Only a certain part of fandom will buy glorified picture slideshows on DVD. May as well let Britbox do their own thing and animate it for DVD release a few years down the line.
