Was absentmindedly looking through the upcoming releases for later in the year and was struck by how odd it is that there's no Dorian in November. I can't even look forward to him in Penny Dreadful, as that's finished too. It's surreal.

I know I am still sad too but I guess it's best to be left wanting more... Still hoping Scott will release that making of book one day.
And I know it's not the same but there is Hamlet to look forward to next month. I am sure it will be brilliant.

All the rainbows in the sky Start to weep, then say goodbye You won't be seeing rainbows any more Setting suns before they fall, Echo to you that's all that's all But you'll see lonely sunset after all It's over It's over It's over It's over Who knows Dorian might be back?
In the odd special.

Such a great series from Big Finish. Wish there was more especially considering the rather limp ending.

I keep hoping he'll guest star in other series somewhere. Diary of River Song and Lives of Captain Jack were veritable cockteases, they were

I hope for the same thing--that Dorian's story will be revisited at some point. I don't think a series ending ever made me feel such pangs of grief! For years of series endings, the story is the same..."We decided to end now on a high note while the series is still so popular and the viewers/readers/listeners are really happy with it, rather than fizzle out slowly while fans drop off bit by bit." It's such a familiar explanation that it's become a bit of a cliché. Ending on a high note is still "ending", and there's nothing that makes it easier or more palatable, for me anyway.
Yes, I'm over the moon about "Versailles" because it's a beautiful, sumptuous and sexy romp--and Alex is wonderful in it. And I'm so happy that Scott and Alex are teaming up for "Hamlet". But, it still hasn't made the loss of this range any easier for me. I'm still in mourning.

I'm aware that this series was over before I managed to start listening to it, so I knew how much/little I had to look forward to... but I find that hasn't stopped me regretting that there were only five seasons. I have to admit that I missed 'Dorian's' narration during season 5 (although the stories were good ones), and I didn't enjoy the finale. I've never liked 'nuthouse' stories - didn't like it in 'Charmed' or 'Buffy', either. But at least it's only a couple of years out - I do hope for a little more, even just as guest appearances, if possible; I've found the character of Dorian so engaging.

I'm pretty sure I knew the series was planned to button-off and I held off on my listening journey until they all had been released.
I think I'd rather have some kind of planned conclusion rather than some open ended thing that they just stop producing.
(not that a being such as Doian doesn't have a huge chunk of un-documented history that could not be later tapped into later on, of course!)

Most of them were brilliant anyway!!So they are well worth a 2nd or even a 3rd listen!

So true - I'm on my second listen, and I'm trying to pace myself a little as I binged the first time through. This one is chronological (minus a couple of crossovers which I haven't bought, yet). I think I will be giving them several loops, though - they're so good, and I've found that re-listening to audiobooks still throws up bits and pieces that I've missed during previous listens But that there is a lot of unexplored history to Dorian does give me hope that we'll hear from him again!

I'm long overdue for a re-listen to the whole range, except some of the three stories I've saved in order to be spared the heartbreak of the series ending - it isn't over until I've heard them all, so technically it hasn't ended yet. :-)
Sigh, I suppose I can daydream that Alex and Scott gave up Dorian audios to make a Dorian TV show, because there should be one. With Alex and Scott.

When I met Alex last weekend, I told him that it was Big Finish and Dorian Gray that had first brought him to my attention. He was genuinely touched at the mention of BF and he said it moves him when someone brings up the audios because it’s work that he’s very proud of. Nice guy!

Nice guy! he was booked no less than 2 times to come to Australia a few years ago for various Comic Cons and cancelled twice.. I have all my Dorian Gray cd covers ready to be signed I was gonna go the full hog and get them all signed . Damnit LOL!

I only ever listened to series 1 and a bit of 2, it was really brilliant but the darker it became the less I wanted to listen, I like a good spook but I'm not really into horror stuff, I'm a bit of a girl Pity it finished though, as my friend said it was a pretty awesome series.

I can't figure out if you're serious, or, if it'll turn out to be some gruesome, blood curdling horror. You know, head over there, fingers missing, legs telling the time - a quarter past three ! I don't like nasty surprises
