I notice that this set of full-casts (Asylum, Golden Age, and this release, The Dead Line) all deal with Torchwood of other eras. Asylum deals with a refugee, sent back to the present by the Torchwood of 2069. Golden Age deals with Torchwood India, perpetually stuck in 1924 right before the fall of the British Empire. And this release deals a lot with the more recent past, (re)introducing an old flame of Jack's who used to run with him in the Torchwood scene in the 70s and events set in motion in 1974. It's an interesting thing, these three radio releases giving us insight into different eras of Torchwood, but all framed in the present. A bit of an interesting take on it, similar to what BF are doing now, though with the freedom of course to actually set their audios in those other eras, and give us entirely new casts and Torchwood Teams to get to know.
