If this has been kept secret for a year, I wonder why the sudden announcement without a massive build up (as in a week or so)? Cheers Tony The John Hurt announcement didn't get too much pre-notice either. Just the decaying Seal Of Rassilon a day before the announcement. True, but wasn't that during the week as opposed to a Sunday evening? Cheers Tony

I'd want monthly TDAs with Rose, Martha, or Donna.

Assuming it is the Tenth Doctor what would be your preference? A Dark Eyes style box set telling one linked story of several disks A Russell T Davies Presents box set of two multi-part stories A Tenth Doctor Adventures (TDA) style on-going series of say 10 releases either with a new companion or an existing one. Or something completely different? I'm also assuming it's the 10/Donna audios being announced (though, I'm also hoping it's an intentional red-herring, and it's 9th Doctor audios instead (not that I don't like Tennant's Doctor)-they had the same tardis didn't they?) If that is the case I think a Dark Eyes style boxset of 3-5 45 minute-1 Hour eps (mimicing the style and tone of Tennant's tneure on TV) would be my preference (at least to start off with)-it's more affordable and marketable as a one off epic event and /or an introduction to the audio drama format for newcomers (If this is a Tennant announcement I feel safe in assuming it will bring alot of new listeners in...many of whom may be younger and have limited funds or experience with the audio drama format-a one off miniseries box set would be less of a commitment than a full series) than a whole series would be, and I think the idea of short interlinked miniseries would work well on audio. Big Finish does seem to be moving more towards boxsets anyway.

Cheers Tony No, the teaser pic went up on Sunday 4th October at 18.00 and the range was on sale the next morning so this is matching that pattern exactly.

If it's not 10/Donna audio dramas, I'll get my username changed to IWearAdultNappies266.

Certain to be the 10th Doctor range we've all suspected. I don't find my excitement diminished at all by the Blogtor Who spoilers (though I wish they hadn't spoiled it). This will still be an instant subscription for me.

I just thought, if next year isn't going to include a full series on TV could BBC radio be in the mix for these 10th Doctor audios?

It's just treating them as separate entities when the beauty of the show is that all these different eras are part of the same overall continuity.

I get what you're saying, but I think there are two serious issues with that plan. 1. The established trilogy setup of the main range would be thrown off by introducing a new Doctor to the mix. 2. Having the main range constantly switch between the four part serials and two parters would be jarring, unless they wanted to serialize Tennant's stories.

I just thought, if next year isn't going to include a full series on TV could BBC radio be in the mix for these 10th Doctor audios? I think it is a safe bet that this is related to another Nu Who range from Big Finish, I also think your comment mbt66 are also on the money if I am honest. It seems logical to boost the output with supplementary Who related stuff in a year where there will be less BBC created output. I personally find it interesting that Big Finish in a sort of contractors way are giving more definition to the whole Doctor Who genre. We have got Torchwood, War Doctor, and potentially 9 or 10 in the next 24 hours. As I did before just to make sure we all get a good result, like a person who has their favourite underwear I will use my reverse psychology mantra (it worked with he War Doctor announcement), so with that in mind I am hoping for a new line of Divergent Universe based stories......

The BBC generally put the classic and new series together.

Since the Torchwood announcement style wasn't especially well received, I'm expecting most future announcements will be in this style. Well, the problem with that wasn't that they announced an announcement a week in advance. It was that once the announced announcement came, it just told us to listen to John Barrowman's crappy radio show for an hour to hear the announcement we were actually waiting for.
