I presume it's probably going to have to serve as an acknowledgement of unification of Doctors that the New Series is at Big Finish in the first place (although I might wish it were otherwise if inclusion in the Monthly Range were to guarantee longer stories). It really did work out that way for me that it's next to impossible for me to ignore New Who if BF is going to embrace it, so that in itself has been tremendously unifying in my experience.
Thing is though that to really assimilate all the Doctors into the Monthly Range might require cannibalizing a half-dozen ranges and thirty-six MR releases a year.
I wouldn't be surprised if there really are licensing concerns also. (I've become half convinced BF has to buy a BBC Locum License to mix and match different era Doctors and companions, which apparently was practical for the MR 200th anniversary and for Return to Telos, not so much. Without this preposterous Locum License, so the theory goes, one does not get the "real" Jamie with any Doctor except Two. Make of that what you will since on the one hand it's completely daft, and on the other, I think I can actually refer to the BF catalog as evidence). :-)

I think one of the main reasons they might not put the New Docs in with 5-7 (+8) is that they know some folks who have already subscribed for years really don't care for New Who.
Not me, mind. I'm chuffed.

BF's FAQ seems perfectly clear to me, they can use all things Doctor Who upto and including Matt Smith's Doctor. No need for other kinds of licence.

If it is indeed 10/Donna, and I expect it will be, well, congrats to Blogator Who for breaking the story. And gimme gimme gimme. And I'm still trying to understand how Blogator Who breaking the story undermines anyone's excitment for the range.

Because some people would rather open their Christmas presents without knowing what they are! But does knowing that it is coming make you want it any less? It certainly makes me less excited, yes bcause we knew it was coming. John Hurt's announcement was a surprise - totally out the blue. I can't understand why you wouldn't find that enitrely preferrable to just having it blurted out by a news site. Would Night Of The Doctor have been as amazing if we knew McGann was coming back a month beforehand? Sure, we'd all still want to see it but wasn't the surprise part of the treat?

I kind of agree with David it's not that I am not excited but I wish BlogtorWho had not spoiled the news. Honestly I lost a bit of respect for them. I guess they had to be first with their exclusive. Although I guess spoiling news is the job of news sites.

But by breaking the story Blogator Who did their job. Scoops like that don't come around often. Congratulations to them for doing it.

It's also a bit presumptuous - what makes you think he'll be any better as Ten than he was as Colonel Brincombe-Wood? Tennant is near the bottom of my favourite Doctors but I love him with Donna. To me that was his peak. Indeed the viewing figures bear that out too as 2008 was by far the most successful year for the show. I will be so happy to get more of them together. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that Jacqueline King works with BF quite a lot already - especially over the last couple of years - so Sylia Noble seems a safe bet at some point too.

Haha, I wish I could. Though it's a good thing I titled it "David Tennant's best role for Big Finish ( so far...)" just in case the inevitable happened, which it did. EDIT: For the record I'm more a fan of Kurtz and Brimmicombe-Wood. I like Ten, don't get me wrong, but he's definitely in need of the BF treatment.

It's good news that Tennant and Tate are finally confirmed but try as I like I just can't get excited. I just feel like it was always going to happen at some point.. It still feels like a Christmas present that you know whats in it and know it will be good but with the surprise gone there is no excitement. As for box sets or single releases or main range I think we can rule out main range as all releases for 2016 have classic doctors assigned. Single releases would clash too much with the fourth doctor stories and new adventures audios so I can see them going for box sets. As for when I think they will release it in a month where there is no other doctors box sets due to space them out so that would rule out January (8 in the river song box set) February (the 2nd war doctor box set) and March (8 in doom coalition 2). I will guess at April at the earliest

I guess the main thing of interest to me is the format. I'm kind of over, or at least a little tired of the box set method of storytelling and would prefer a monthly series. Or it might be a nice surprise, and a tip of the hat to old time subscribers,to have 10 take his place in the Main Range for a one shot deal instead of the anthology title. And David, I agree with you. 10 was at his best with Donna Noble.

So I am super excited for this because I am I am hoping to get some really good stories with them. This will be a day 1 preorder for me for sure.
