That was a struggle ordering Really? Outside of the usual deal of my bank declining an overseas charge to Big Finish, it went as smoothly as it usually does for me. So yeah, ordered. Box set. What can I say? I am weak.

Jenny T Colgan is getting some high profile gigs with Big Finish. She is primarily known as a novelist, right? Volume 1 bodes well. I wonder what else is in the pipeline for 10/Donna.

That was a struggle ordering It was a struggle for me as well in the sense that the website was very slow. I imagine there were quite a few people ordering at the same time.

What can I say? I am weak. It was fine once It had got to my bank details but it was taking ages for pages to load when It was adding to cart

Moderation: It's a bit late now, but many posts in this thread broke the rules about spoilers, please review the rules if your not clear on them, but put simply either the thread title needs to have contained "(Spoilers)" in it, or spoiler tags should have been used whenever information that might spoil the surprise was given.

I couldn't even get the BF site to load. Apparently y'all broke the BF internet with your ordering frenzy. Fortunately, 10 minutes later I was able to do a little frenzied box set ordering of my own.

BF's website is working great for me, not actually ordered yet, so not gone though credit card processing, but as that is handled either by Paypal or Sagepay I wouldn't expect anything BF does to effect those.

If it is indeed 10/Donna, and I expect it will be, well, congrats to Blogator Who for breaking the story. And gimme gimme gimme. And I'm still trying to understand how Blogator Who breaking the story undermines anyone's excitment for the range. Because some people would rather open their Christmas presents without knowing what they are! Except now you do know, over six months before it's available to unwrap, so haven't BF themselves just spoiled it for you?

Please could you clarify? I thought the rules on spoilers related to revealing story content, not discussing announcements.

The spoiler rules reads in full:
Use spoiler tags. Not everyone likes to read spoilers. If you want to post spoilers, remember to use the spoiler tag. Threads can be created specifically for the posting of spoilers, these spoiler threads must contain the word (Spoilers) in the title.
Whilst some common sense needs to be applied, it isn't limited to story content, it's about not spoiling surprises for those that don't want them spoiled, regardless of why they don't want them spoiled.

That's the rule I read and I didn't take it as meaning anything about discussing future announcements. Perhaps it should be tightened up to make that clearer.

Me neither - especially when the thread title and the first post ask for speculation about what the news was going to be. Since none of us knew with certainty this news was coming I'm not sure it can even be considered a spoiler. Untill 2 hours ago it was still just rumour from one website albeit one usualy spot on with stories. It's not as though this story wasn't massive "news" when leaked last month anyway. The cat was - well and truly - out of the bag.

Well, so much for the £20 boxset model but I guess this was always gonna be a pricier one. I think I'll plumb for the limited book. Only a fiver more than the standalones and I've got the other book sets. Looks like they've decided at last 10,000 was a bit much!
I think it's a good idea to start off with no returning villains. Give the range time to establish itself. Novelty alone will carry these first ones. VERY happy to hav Matt F and James G writing. They're two of my top tier writers. Jenny Colgan's books are excellent. She taps into that cross-section where mainstream papaerbacks meet nerdy sci-fi. Quite a coup to have her doing this and the River set.
I've no doubt whatsoever this is going to be a massive success for BF.

I'm sorry, but the spoiler thing is just nonsense if it applies to announcements that are going to be all over the internet anyway. Nobody interested in Big Finish audios is not going to know about Tenth Doctor & Donna audios, no matter where they hear it first. The news was leaked on the internet two weeks ago, plus it's already in the Big Finish FAQ's that they can produce content up to the end of Matt Smith's tenure as The Doctor, so where is the real surprise? I reckon the world has gone spoiler crazy. Where does it all end? Will some people be wanting spoilers for the weather forecast so they can be 'surprised' when it snows?! My view is that spoiler rules on forums were created for not giving away story content, as opposed to keeping news items a secret.

It is clear to me that some of the posts here contained spoilers, indeed at least one spoiler poster agreed and used spoiler tags, it is also clear that others thought so too, to the extent that the issue was raised by them in posts.
Sure this maybe a border line case, but best to err on the side of caution.
The rule itself is clear, although clearly, myself included, many of us didn't apply it, but the rule is clear.
