So with Chris at the helm, and Jodie in the TARDIS, let's move onto debating the next subject: the writing staff.
Who are some writers from British TV that you'd love to see come onboard? And, as per Chris' indications, can't be anyone who's already written for the franchise.

Be interesting to also see how much of a gender ratio we get, too, in light of the casting.
Marnie Dickens, from 'Thirteen', could be an interesting one. Do a psychological piece.

Louise Fox is probably a safe bet. I'd like Will Bridges in there too.
Of course, getting Jamie Mathieson back would be a boon. And I'd love Mike Bartlett to get another crack at the whip too.

All the SJWs will be writing. It'll be full of Donald Trump mocking probably... Jodie wasn't my pick either, and I have my axe to grind with SJ, but if you're going to be juvenile, don't waste thread space. This is meant to be a productive section.

Be interesting to see if we get any names from previous Who competitors or inspired shows (Merlin, Atlantis, Musketeers, Primeval, Jekyll and Hyde).
Maybe Johnny Capps and Julian Murphy will get a shot?

I honestly can't think if any writers to suggest, simply due to my poor knowledge of writers. Hopefully this injection of fresh writers Chibnall seems to be seeking pays off, and it'll be interesting to see how this writers room affects the show.

One. We are into Series 11 now, with enough specials and so on for it to be actually 12, so could we finally, finally have a Nick Briggs Dalek script? As far as this listener/viewer is concerned not a single post 2005 TV Dalek story (including Dalek) is as good as Nick's when he's on form.

Social Justice Warrior. Definitions of the term and connotations of it's usage vary dramatically by political perspective. Ta, so basically any writer who's views you don't agree with. No doubt Robert Sloman would have been classed as one, with his pinko commie hippy lovefest, The Green Death.

I think there's an underlying assumption to 'SJW' that they write with a hope of influencing political perspective but aren't actually very good at it. "The Green Death" works a lot better than certain latter-day scripts I could mention.

Gents, as OP, might I suggest we get back to the actual topic?
You can go elsewhere on the site for political debates.

Now, Guy Bert seems to be on the up and up. After watching Tutankhamun, I would be interested in seeing him tackle a period piece.

All the SJWs will be writing. It'll be full of Donald Trump mocking probably... The first producer was a woman and the first director was a gay Indian man. Who's been progressive since day 1.

All the SJWs will be writing. It'll be full of Donald Trump mocking probably... Have you ever liked any of Malcolm Hulke's stories? Because I can guarantee that if he was still with us he'd be writing scripts that were to the left of Jeremy Corbyn.

Wonder if Chibnall will bring a few of the BF crew onboard.

I miss the days of Robert Holmes using Doctor Who as a platform to bitch about taxes. Everyone could agree with that!
Honestly, I just miss the days of Robert Holmes.
