The Hidden Hand - The Resurrection of Whiskey Foote (Another Wino band). Just started it. First/second song a little slower, more 'psychadelic'. Should be interesting. Third song is going faster... I hopped on amazon and bought all things wino out on CD for a reasonable price (aka, nothing that's 40 bucks used because nothing has been pressed in forever. But if I have to pay 15 for a new CD, sure why not - I don't mind supporting the smaller acts. Something like the stones, I'll look for the cheapest used disc). Yeah, ok, "Dark Horizons" (third song) is more like it. Not quite as heavy as Obsessed or Vitus thus far, but that's fine.
4th: Spiritually Bereft. Ok, I wish Wino sang like that more often. Damn. I mean, I obviously quite like his singing but this is a slightly different angle.

Lol it helps on some tracks, but others not so much. I did make a Fan Version with both lol. I actually did the same with Cryptic Writings. I do really enjoy the album. But i do agree with Mustaine when he says that if the album had come out as say a Solo album it would have been better received

Starting "Thirteen", another Wino project.
Starting off well. I've found his lyrics kind of weak at points, but lyrics aren't everything. Hell, I still like Nirvana and Kurt deliberately scrambled his lyrics (ie, "everything is grey" became "everyone is gay" in All Apologies). A sort of irreverent "F you" to people looking for layers of deep meaning and also just trying to find the thing that sounded best to pronounce at that point in a song.
("Senses", fourth track, sounds weirdly like Joe Bonamassa in lyrical style).
At any rate, I'm definitely going to go through this thread and listen to youtube videos of stuff whiskeybrewer and Vin Diesel listen to, since our preferences do seem to overlap...

Obituary "Cause Of Death". co-incidentally they are playing tonight in my hometown, the 30th anniversary of the release of this, their 2nd album. Great Florida death metal originators.

What an amazing album this is.
*
I am listening to Live Through This/Celebrity Skin and Nobody's Daughter by Hole ... and I'm not sure why I'm enjoying it so much. I'm not usually a fan of aggressive punky alternative rock, but I'm playing these a lot at the moment. I'd say Courtney Love is pretty much an 'icon' (overused word) of the genre, and Boys on the Radio remains a favourite of mine.

Probot - self-titled.
Edit:
Mainly not for me. Too many singers sound like those that I reacted to by not getting much into metal. (Track 2, by "Venom" singer, I think).
Got it without paying much attention since Wino was on. He has one track.
Meh, I just don't in for the whole growling thing. Lyrics, too. How much I overlook depends on a number of things including how much I otherwise like the song. But I don't like the death and blood everywhere, always, souls in hell...etc. Depends on the volume perhaps? How much someone sings about that vs. how much they sing about things they've lived?

Was a great album back in the day when it was released, Grohl representin' his true metal roots with some awesome underground klvt acts I love the death metal growling, clean singing, etc .. Whatever fits the music.
