David Bowie - 1. Outside.
Back in 1995, David Bowie released Outside, the first time had worked with Brian Eno since 1979's Lodger. It was planned to be the first of five albums, released annually, each exploring similar themes through the eyes of differing characters, all 'played' by Bowie. It was culminate in the 2000.
Typically of Bowie's unstructured brilliance, these plans ultimately came to nothing and the project was abandonded before work on the follow-up 2. Contamination begun. So all we have is Outside, an artsy, surreal, violent, unique slice of electronic mayhem. Absolutely, eye-wateringly brilliant, if brought - for me - David Bowie back to 'the top' after over a decade in the 80s wilderness and proved once again that when he was on form, no-one ever came close.
Some great tunes on Outside! I even like his drum and bass effort, Earthling. Good on ya Paz, I'm a big eno and electronica fan. Check out Wrangler's 'Sparked', it is fantastic. 10 artists all given a remix project of the album LA Spark. Wrangler have among their ranks Steven Mallinder of Cabaret Voltaire, seen them live a couple of times too. youtu.be/90Wo3B8-alAyoutu.be/6ZndwPXH53gyoutu.be/U6fle9ifH0Q

Dynasty wasnt as bad as it was made out to be Dynasty and Unmasked and Crazy Nights have a too polished production- would be interesting to hear a remix without the keyboards, and up the guitars.

Warriors - Gary Numan.
At the time of its release - 1983 - I felt that this was perhaps the least of Gary's albums upto that point, possibly tied with the previous I, Assassin. His flirtation with 'funk' didn't do anything for me, and seemed distinctly at odds with the electronic malencholia I'd loved so much about his previous songs (and much subsequent output, happily). Listening again, I still feel the same way, but Warriors still has some fine moments. This Prison Moon, My Centurian and the title track still deserve to be turned up loud and sung along with - which is exaclty what is happening right now!

Have you heard the live version of the album from 2007 (I think)? The version of title track is genuinely jaw dropping
