You would not believe how many times I've attempted to post this thread, this is attempt 7 at least. I was trying to post individual links to each story in the main stream press, but I give up now, just going to post to a link for all news coverage as seen by Google. 10th Doctor and Donna at BF news coverage

IGN didn't post anything about Tennat coming to Big Finish. However they did cover the news of the K-9 movie. Maybe this isn't quite the licence to print money we thought it'd be. No matter who's in it, audio is a niche medium. Anyone know how much better the sale of Cabin Pressure got once Cumberbatch got more famous?

Is there an "isn't" masquerading as an "is" in your post batmanofni?

For sure Doctor Who on audio is never going to get the same exposure as the TV show generates, but the news has been covered in by press in India, Korea, US and of course the UK, and that's ignoring the scifi and who web news sites.
BF are not going to garner sales in the millions, but you got to be thinking that they are going to get between 2 and 10 times their normal volume and potentially start to break into markets they've never got exposure in before.

I didn't keep a strict record, but I saw the news pop up on quite a few news sites, including sites that normally primary cover things like comic books. The word got out in a significant way as far as I can tell. BF has to be pleased.

From Vanity FairRomanna doesn't count then? I don't know if you misquoted them, or they realized their mistake, but now it says "Donna went from flighty temp to “the Doctor Donna,” one of a very few times in the modern era we’ve come close to getting a female Doctor in the TARDIS."

It was a copy and paste I did, so they corrected, presumably after someone contacted them saying "Ahem!"

Haha I thought the same thing. They obviously got bombarded by a bunch of big nerds like us.

They may have gone too far in the other direction though. Now it sounds like we've come close to getting a female Doctor a few times in the New Series, and plenty of times in the Classic series.
Also their original quote doesn't make sense even if they've only seen the New Series. Did they forget about River Song?

To be fair, it does say "one of the very few times". River can be the other one.

Except they also changed it to saying a "female Doctor." River is many things, but she isn't the Doctor.

From Vanity FairRomanna doesn't count then? Vanity Fair is a massive publicity coup from an American POV. Big Finish always seem like they want to keep expanding into new markets and with new customers - here's their big, big chance.

Total TV Guide which is a weekly listings magazine has the Tennant and Tate news section which is usually 100% television related news. Attachment DeletedSorry for for the quality, but the magazine, as always, has been well used!

Nice bit of awareness raising from the TV Guide, although I doubt it will direct contribute to sales. Also nice find mbt66.

look at big finish's youtube channel and compare the views for the tenant and tate vid to every other vid on their channel. its really shocking. you would think who fans would be someone what interested at what going on at big finish but they really aren't.
