It might be interesting to see a year of 5-6-7 (x4) and a bonus release at Christmas, regardless of what companions we get each release (sometimes we might get two Peri and two Flip-Constance, sometimes we might get three Ace-Mel and one Raine). Also, one thing they HAVE done right this year is avoided doing another three solo stories in a single year. It works sometimes, but no-companion stories need to be a little rarer IMO (especially if CDNM is a regular feature now). I *think* it was stated somewhere that there's no definite plans to continue with CDNM as a regular range, at least for now, though I can't remember where I read that.

It was in July's VORTEX David Richardson stated to the effect that there was only a couple of options left before they start stretching continuity too far and start getting E-mails.

I don't think I have any complaints so whatever works best for Big Finish is probably okay with me. I wouldn't mind if unconnected stories with the same Doctor were mixed up more so that it isn't so long until we hear from the other Doctors again, except that doing so might make it harder for people with preferences for particular Doctors to selectively subscribe according to their preferences?

OK.
I think some "monsters" from the revival could be used a lot in the classical era, the Judoon springs to mind, just because they were never seen on TV before is no reason to believe The Doctor hasn't run into them many times.
We also have the Vashta Nerada, and whilst painting them as monstrous murders has limited viability, The Doctor clearly knows who and what they are, and could easily have come across them in other circumstances.
Then we have the weeping angels, The Doctor clearly has known about them, but not in any great detail when they first hit our TV screens, so they could be used more but the context would have to mean that they were not the main adversary or perhaps they could provide background to why a society is shaped a certain way, there presence and influence would need to be subtle.

The issue with having Tom and Paul back in the MR, instead of or in addition to their own side ranges, is that will necessarily lead to less releases from Peter, Colin and Sylvester. Easily solved... two Main Range stories every month.

Because of the super subscriptions up to 2020, even if they wanted to do that, which is a big increase in material to write and record, can't happen for about 3 years at the least.

Personally, I wouldn't have the side ranges with that; Four and Eight would have to slot in to the main range - either as individual stories or blocks of three - and all classic era Doctors would then be in the main range. It's not going to happen though I know that.

I'd love to know what "CDNM" means. Glad I wasn't the only one who didn't instantly know what it meant.

It's not going to happen though I know that. Although I'd like to see 4 and 8 drop into the MR now and again (more Mary Shelley stories please!), overall I'm happy that they are kept int their own ranges, I sometimes prefer the 50-60 minute episode format to sprawling 4 parters (it's cheaper as well) and I like that McGann has the focus as the main ongoing doctor with these separate epic boxsets, putting 4/8 into the MR would only mean less stories for all concerned 13 stories divided by 5 means around 2.5 stories a year! (one way of fixing this issue would be to double the Monthly range to two stories a month as mentioned above, realistically this isn't going to happen though), make it harder for people to subscribe to certain doctors, alienate new listeners and lead to a homogenization of the doctors output, with the monthly range you only get stories in blocks of 3, whereas with the 4da's and boxsets there's 4-16 stories per season so there's more variety and less chance of a bigger miss than hit rate.

Well you can buy specific bundles for each Doctor on their "Collected" pages. I don't understand why subscribing to certain Doctors isn't an option already.

Because releases two years out would be subject to change, so they may not know exactly which release a person was subscribing to if they asked for the next six 7th Doctor Audios. I would like to see a way of buying individual trilogies, that maybe too much though.

I would like to see a may of buying individual trilogies, that maybe too much though. Going by the six month sub model, maybe two trilogy bundles. Depending on how far Big Finish could go with it, opt for two consecutive trilogies with any given Doctor or two consecutive trilogy with a particular TARDIS team.

I don't particularly mind the triple blocks as they currently are, but if I had my druthers I'd rather break it down to blocks of two, and have only two releases before switching to another Doctor. You'd still get at least four releases per year per Doctor, but instead of six month gaps between any given Doctor until his next set of releases hit, it would only be four. So the wait until the next new Peter or Colin or Sylvester story for their biggest fans wouldn't feel quite as long. I'd also like them to play around more with the format of the releases a bit more often. Sometimes have two two part stories in a release, sometimes have a three and a one part, or four one parters, occasionally maybe have an epic eight part story split over two releases. Or instead of the shared trilogy, which for me has grown a bit tired - particularly as Five always starts the arc, Six always gets stuck with the baggy middle section, and Seven always get to finish things off - instead a two block format would allow them to have Five start and Six finish an arc, or Six start and Seven finish, or Seven start and Five finish. Basically levelling the playing field for each Doctor to be able to play either end of a story arc, and getting rid of any need for a middle section which is often treading water a bit anyway. But if they did still want to do a trilogy arc they could do two parts with one Doctor and one with another and still have it work. The extra thirteenth release would be nice to keep as short story format, but maybe play with that a bit more as well. Maybe have it focus on four stories each with different companions of a certain Doctor each year, a release that the Doctor is still in, but the stories are centered around the companions for once. So a fifth Doctor short story set might have one centered around Tegan and Nyssa, one on Turlough, one with Peri, and the final story could be a Fifth Doctor Solo tale. Just as an example. Or do a set primarily told from the enemy's points of view, or the viewpoint of those being saved/assisted. Just a thought. I highly doubt that Tom, McGann or Tennant will ever be separated from their own lines and put into the monthly range. In fact, if anything I wouldn't be surprised if Big Finish wrapped up the monthly range one day (maybe at #250, say) and transitioned Peter, Colin and Sylvester into their own standalone ranges each. Not saying that should happen, necessarily, but it's a move I wouldn't be surprised to see at some point. Particularly if they think it might be more new listener friendly. And it seems, to me at least, more likely than any other Doctors ever being added to the monthly range at this point. Then again the only think Big Finish cares about from me is my money, not my opinion, so it doesn't really matter what I think either way...

I think the monthly range will go when a shift in casting takes place.
Ie... we lose a doctor actor.
But i don't want to think about that.

I don't want to think about it either, but the Doctor Who main range was never just about three Doctors, so there's no reason another Doctor couldn't slip in should an unfortunate event happen. A range that has revolving Doctors with different companions should still be the flagship range of BF, the variety works, and always has done. (It's what got me in to Big Finish back in 2000; and all these years later - and despite the BF website being unwieldy with loads of different ranges - I am still here and a main range subscriber.)
