Is The Doctor sexy? I've heard often from fans who grew up with the original series ("If I was younger", etc) that, but I've never particularly felt attracted to any of the newer Doctors. The Doctor to me is too much of a mad Uncle type to really feel any attraction

Well she is now [ducks for cover] The implication being that being a woman is what makes someone sexy? I beg to differ.

I couldn't care less if anyone finds the actor in the role sexy for whatever reason they do. It's not an aspect of the show I've ever watched DW for but if others find it and watch for that reason - and plenty did for Tennant's era - then good for them. It doesn't bother me in the slightest.

No, you said that you were against it because you worried that the actress would either be too good looking or not good looking enough for you. I never said anything about not being able to find the person attractive but that having that as a reason not to choose to do the gender swap was nonsense. I'm glad the BBC agree. Here's your post since you - and not me - brought it up. As found: notthebigfinishforum.freeforums.net/thread/2528/farewell-capaldi-enter-speculation-rumours?page=19 "I don't know why but it (casting a woman as Doctor Who) offends me for some reason, I'd be thinking is she attractive enough, or too much? is there enough conviction behind her performance? are the action scenes believable? Old fashioned and maybe a touch sexiest true but I just cant shake it and then press reaction whichever way it went would be seismic. Regards mark687" Well, the press reaction has indeed been seismic but the level of Jodie's attractiveness, her "conviction" or believability as an action hero (?) don't seem to have been concerns anywhere. Fancy who you want - it's as valid a reason to watch as any - but what you did there was say it was offensive to you because now you would have to consider your sexual feelings towards the character wheras, as Kim said in reply in the same page: "I guess I am a bit confused why it would matter if some viewers found the Doctor "attractive" enough if the Doctor was a woman. Not every viewer of Doctor Who is a straight male last time I checked.". It had zero to do with finding the Doctor sexy. Plenty already had by that stage. But now it made straight guys think about such things it was "offensive".

I know my Girlfriend watched Tennant because he was hot. It's a perfectly valid reason, adds to the ratings.

I definitely won't doubt Jodie's conviction in the part and I find her attractive in a way her predecessors haven't been. Should it be so? I don't know.

I don't kmow Regards mark687 Nothing wrong with it - if you read the thread back now that was my point. The right actress wouldn't make you doubt it at all. No-one is saying you can't fancy Jodie Whittaker, any more than I'd say anyone else can't fancy David Tennant (or, hey - William Hartnell, why not?) You've been on board mostly since the casting so if you thought my issue was with you potentially fancying the actor....absolutely not. I couldn't - and I don't mean this to be rude - care less who you fancy. You were as appalled as I was when the tabloids did their piece on Jodie's nude roles, so I think we've come closer to the same viewpoints over time.

Sexy? Well if you say an adventurous person whisking people away in a magic box for thrilling adventures and exciting times is sexy... I don't blame you. And now I've got to thinking about Henry Cavill as the Doctor which I am completely on board with.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

My boss - who came to the show through her now-13-year-old son - says she hasn't enjoyed the show quite as much since Capaldi came on board. When I asked her if it was because of the story quality, she said, "... maybe..."

Well she is now [ducks for cover] Sexy is in the eye of the beholder. If Tennant was more your thing then no problem. But for me, yes, being female is what it takes too be sexy (or at least it's a good first step) Edit: that hasn't quoted properly. It was supposed to be a reply to Jasonward, not too myself.
