While it's not quite the same, a Short Trip read by Colin Baker could be a nice tribute to Evelyn to commemorate the end of the Main Range... Same sort of deal if Caroline Morris doesn't want to come back (although I'm not sure how the rights work with Erimem given she has her own spin-off nowadays). Just have to ask iainmclaughlin The rights to Erimem reside solely with me these days and have done for quite a while. However, if Big Finish ever did want to use her again, I would be happy to okay that, and I wouldn't even charge a fee. It would be like going home for her, so I would be happy to wave that through with a smile. As for Caroline Morris coming back... it's something we talked about when she did the foreword for the first of our Erimem novels.
I'll be frank, if I had the cash, I'd do a box-set using the set-up from the books, and probably go after the rights to a Doctor Who monster for her to go against in one of the stories. I know who I would cast as her new group of friends and I know who I'd cast as the big bad for the set. But the company doesn't have that kind of cash reservoir at the moment. The future... we shall see. For now, we have 15 Erimem books out and another 6 at various stages, so... she's keeping busy. But would I like to hear Caroline in the role again? That's a very big YES from me.

I wish she hadn't been written out of the monthly range in the first place. Erimem and Peri made a great team for the Fifth Doctor.

On the upside, this makes her short run easy to follow if you're looking for something very good/exceptional and to the point. And really affordable now.

I feel like Erimem and Evelyn’s time with the Doctor were nicely concluded. I haven’t listened to all the main range for awhile. I am sure that Big Finish would like to attract, new listeners, lapsed subscribers and existing subscribers, therefore I would be surprised if they carried over any none TV companions into the reboot. To my mind, as an “outsider” Ace and Mel both travelling with the Doctor would be fine, just make sure that the first story recapped the circumstances. And the same for Mags. I know she wasn’t a companion of the Doctor, but she was in the television series. From what has been said I believe it is Marc with the Fifth Doctor who’s story needs to be concluded. And I think the same for Constance and Flip. I am enjoying following their stories with the Sixth Doctor, but (to my mind) you cannot reboot the range and still keep characters new listeners do not know.I heartily disagree with that. Maybe I'm wrong and this is just wish fulfillment since I love these BF original characters, but I think a mix of tv and BF original characters is the way to go. Doctor Who fans are aware that companions change. I can pick up a comic with a comic-only companion and not get put off by it. And BF does some great companions. I don't see why a boxset continuing the adventures of Five, Tegan, Nyssa and Marc might put people off. Tegan and Nyssa are well-known characters to anyone already interested in the Fifth Doctor and they can gently introduce Marc into the mix for those listeners. I've been so happy that they have kept these new companions and not rushed to be rid of them in one or two arcs. I'm looking forward to seeing who survives into the boxsets.

But I was happy to get more Charley. A sentence which means something completely different when said by Keef Richards.

Maybe Erimem just slept through "The Caves of Androzani", "The Twin Dilemma" and "Attack of the Cybermen"......

It certainly would’ve been interesting if they had Erimem take a temporary leave of absence, perhaps to help out Peladon and then when the Doctor and Peri make it back for her, suddenly it’s Colin Baker.

And there's a novel - one of the BBC's eighth Doctor ones, I think - where the Doctor is horrified to discover an old companion, greatly aged, whom he left in the TARDIS library and forgot about.

Or got trapped inside the TARDIS by a malevolent force planning something horrible for the Doctor in his own home... planning to use the TARDIS to tear the universe apart, maybe... or to use it to invade Gallifrey (but everybody does that, it's so the-day-before-yesterday) or they have a bonkers scheme she walks into inside the TARDIS and she's held captive until it's time for the villain to give a manic laugh and reveal their villainy.

A Pharoah's tomb for the Doctor? With an alien killer who prepares funeral arrangements in advance and thus surrounds him with that which he most prizes most before he dies? " Here in the depths of this tomb, a servant of the king awaits the call to set out upon his journey into eternity. Death lies waiting."

If the interior of the TARDIS was reconfiguring itself as a Pharaoh's tomb with the traps and dangers, and a friend used against him. That's a great story for Sixie.Just sticking him in a tomb saying use your wits is catnip for Six. Oh, yeah. I want to hear that. Read that. Whatever. Loving that idea.
