The re-appearance of Aubrey in season 9 got me thinking. He was in season 5 in the 1960s but J&L lost their memory of this at the start of season 6, for reasons unexplained at the time. And although they forgot about being in the 1960s, in Stage Fright they remembered the 6th Dr who took them to the 1960s.
So I'm wondering if there is going to be some payoff to all this?

If there is, I suspect it won't be something planned from the outset, but rather developed later on.

The only real "arc" is the frightful follies of the finances of the famed HGJ.

Since we're discussing plot I'd love for Litefoot to get a romance at some point. Surely there's a man in his past who could show up.

Especially cause Ellie said that post-Season-5 Litefoot told her not to tell them about their post-Season-5 adventures when they all got together in the future.

I don't know about a long-term arc, but I certainly hope that the writers have a good explanation about Aubrey.
It could be that the ships purser was a forebear of the sixties Aubrey, just like the explanation for Sacker being played by the same actor with the character having the same name.
However how they wrote Aubrey in the series 9 boxset does hint at a mystery.

I don't think that really works for who Litefoot thinks he is, sure I'm pretty convinced he's what in modern terms we would call gay, but I'm not at all sure Litefoot himself would see it that way. I can see him having a soft spot for some fellow, but I can't see him taking it further, I fear if he did he would then have a crisis of identity.
