DOCTOR WHO - MAIN RANGE » 233. STATICLarge coverReleased December 2017 SynopsisDeep in the heart of nowhere, near a place called Abbey Marston, there’s a caravan site. The perfect place to get away from it all. Close by, there’s a stone circle they used for human sacrifice in olden times. A little further afield, there’s an old RAF research station, where they did hushhush things in the War. There’s only one rule: the use of radios, cassette recorders and portable televisions is strictly forbidden. People come here to get away from it all, you see. No-one wants to hear the noise. No-one wants to hear the voices in the static… No-one wants to hear the ghosts. Written By: Jonathan Morris Directed By: Jamie Anderson CASTColin Baker (The Doctor), Lisa Greenwood (Flip Jackson), Miranda Raison (Mrs Constance Clarke), Scott Chambers (Andy Clover / Sergeant Webster), Pippa Nixon (Joanna Nash), Jo Woodcock (Susannah Nash), David Graham (Percy Till), Brian Protheroe (Captain Hardwick), Chris Dale (Soldiers / Static). Other parts played by members of the cast.

A ghost story and electronics is a classic combination. Wonder who will be the one to break the rules? Bet it's Flip or a guest character. What is it about Don'ts that make people want to Do them? That's a very Doctorish line. "When you set out Don'ts, expect someone to Do. Just look at how often my instructions to Not Wander Off are ignored."

You can get Boston's attention by waving his blue ball around in front of him.

It's been a bit since we have gotten a Johnny Morris scripted 6th Doctor adventure. And he wrote the first adventure to feature Flip, right?

This is real nitpicky but does anyone else have issue with the word 'hushhush' in the description? It feels really... odd to see that word in a professional summary where 'secret' could have been more effective.

I happened to be chatting to Jonny Morris earlier this week, and he's very pleased with Static. I'm even more keen on hearing this now I read the blurb.

It feels really... odd to see that word in a professional summary where 'secret' could have been more effective. I think it was originally professional slang, from the First World War military like 'brass hats', 'kite' or 'dog-fight'. So those RAF researchers at the base would probably have used it to describe their work.

Hmmmm....from the look of that blurb, I don't think we're in for a 'traditional' style of release which is a nice shakeup. Very intrested to see how our regulars perform their parts in this.

I also wonder if we'll see such major developments for the trio here.
