I'll be careful to avert my eyes from these posts for fear of spoilers But do tell me one thing - Is this standalone or does it require any previous background?

Let me know if you find something when you complete it, if not, I'll go ahead..

This release had me on the edge of my seat all the way through and I really did start to tear up at one point. I have never been so relieved.

The definition of abject frustration: knowing this is out, hearing that it is brilliant, and not being able to listen to it because I have to go to work!

I think in terms of writing it was sort of around the same standard as Chimes of Midnight but for me personally I think it is that bit better than Chimes. Certainly not leaps and bounds better, but better all the same.

I think it was the details around the edge that really make the story a classic. The cover is just brilliant and beautiful and evocative. The music sets the mood early on. The word that seemed to keep coming up during the behind the scenes segment was “eerie” and that’s exactly right.
I usually listen to the interviews segment of a story anyway, but I feel this one was especially good. I particularly liked the insight of how the slow reveal worked to ramp up the creepiness of the story.
Other thoughts. There is a mention of a Mister Rossiter in the beginning. Is that a reference to Evelyn?
I was getting a really Scooby Doo caretaker vibe off of Percy Till at the beginning, but that’s a good thing.
The Doctor quotes His Coy Mistress (His line about “Time’s winged chariot.”)
I like it when Doctor Who is a proper time travel show and Jonathan Morris is always really good at telling that kind of story. His use of the simultaneous storylines in different time frames really worked. I enjoyed it.
Also, the use of original companions allows a kind of tension you can’t get with television companions. As a rule, we know what happens to them, so we’re not concerned that they will die. But we do have that fear for Constance and Flip. It’s a little thing, but I really appreciate it.

Really great story, very atmospheric and creepy, and I don't know what it was about the last minute or so of the story but it was extremely creepy. I thought Lisa Greenwood was especially good in this story. {Spoiler} Did anyone else think that this story was like a mash-up of The Unquiet Dead and Absent Friends? Not that that's a bad thing, as both are great stories in their own right!

A very solid 4.5. The second half didn't quite have the atmosphere in the 1940 time zone. The resolution also wasn't as powerful as the one for Chimes of Midnight.

Wow. So you guys are really throwing around comparisons in quality to Chimes of Midnight?

Wow. So you guys are really throwing around comparisons in quality to Chimes of Midnight? Personally, I didn’t think it was quite as good as Chimes of Midnight, but still a very strong, solid story. Definitely one I’ll be listening too again soon.

Wow. So you guys are really throwing around comparisons in quality to Chimes of Midnight? I would say on a par with Chimes it doesn't eclipse it for me though
