Wow. So you guys are really throwing around comparisons in quality to Chimes of Midnight? At this point, I think I will be making Static comparisons more than I will be for Chimes Of Midnight.

Which, to be fair, is still a statement that is pretty weighty.

One advantage Chimes of Midnight has over this is that the story is intricately tied to Charley, could only be possible with her as companion and at that point in her story. It gives the reveal and the resolution more power, and is highly satisfying.
However Static fares better as a stand-alone story. Continuity is minimal with everything more or less wrapped up within the narrative. Chimes wouldn't be properly resolved until Neverland.

Comparisons to Chimes of Midnight are worrying IMO, I can’t abide that story.

I wouldn’t let that worry you to much, I feel Chimes of Midnight is an alright story but I’ve never really got what everyone/most people seem to find So Amazing! About it, On the other hand though I did find this tale to be a rather fun & spooky little thing, TommyP

I hear Jonathan Morris writing a sequel called Anti-Static.....ok I'll get off now stage exit left. But, in all seriousness, there is actually some room for a potential follow-up. Susannah, for instance, might break her promise to the Doctor and reveal herself to her family - and I find that a very realistic outcome - which leads to people finding out about the resurrection technology again. Or maybe whoever set it all up underground makes a reappearance. All in all, lots of potential to be picked up in a later Sixth Doctor story.

Everyone says it's a stone cold classic, but I just don't feel it.

Or maybe whoever set it all up underground makes a reappearance. All in all, lots of potential to be picked up in a later Sixth Doctor story. We don't learn who set up the time scoop in the first place, true. I'm thinking a rogue Time Lord, since there were the measures to prevent paradoxes put in place. Could be the Master trying to regain regeneration (could a Time Lord use the time scoop clone creator to multiply themselves, considering regeneration?) or even a Time War experiment fallen through the cracks of time back into the Doctor's personal past? The Doctor merely stopped the Static from using it (assuming they were piggybacking onto it, the best we got for a backstory for them was that they came from another dimension and even that wasn't confirmed), he had to keep the device operational to keep the timeline intact. He didn't event shut it down after stopping the Static and any obligations to time were over. But like all good horror stories we don't really need an explanation. Sometimes learning the reason for the magic can take it away.

Who’s to say it’s not something planned out by The Rani?!?!?!?!

Third time listening through and I think this may be one of my favorite Sixth Doctor stories. I love the horror aspects of this story - I can't think of a single other Big Finish release that quite captures that unnerving feeling I got listening to this story, especially in the first two episodes. And that moment in the fourth episode, even when you know it's coming and even when you know it'll all work out in the end, it still hits me hard. When the Doctor breaks down just a bit when he realizes Constance is truly gone - that's right up there with "you killed Peri" as one of the most heartbreaking moments in Doctor Who history. And his steely resolve afterwards is just as powerful. You can tell he's got a plan to save her. It reminds me a little of The Brink of Death. Hands down the best Main Range release of the year.

Really great story, very atmospheric and creepy, and I don't know what it was about the last minute or so of the story but it was extremely creepy. I thought Lisa Greenwood was especially good in this story. {Spoiler} Did anyone else think that this story was like a mash-up of The Unquiet Dead and Absent Friends? Not that that's a bad thing, as both are great stories in their own right! Yes, I was thinking Absent Friends quite a bit during this. I kept thinking that there was going to be some kind of link to that story.

I don't know why but I tend to listen to the 6th Doctor trilogies pretty close together, as opposed to listening to everything else shorty upon release, so I'm thinking this weekend it with be 6, Mrs Clarke and Flip time.

Damn, was that good. Not quite 5/5, but then, only the very few can be (or else what does 100% mean?). 4.75? 4.85? Very very good. And, We actually don't know that Constance has been truly saved. We know that The Doctor used a desperate clever maneuver that he think worked, but that doesn't always pan out now does it? Also, I'm more in the group that gives less than utterly outstanding reviews to Chimes. For me, the first 2.5-3 episodes are 10/10 (or perhaps they got to 11), but the explanation and resolution just annoy me and that drags it down. An inanimate object becomes sentient because time loop, etc? Come on. I know it had to do with saving Charley too, but I just don't like it. I know the idea didn't originate in that episode, but I just don't like the idea. Tolerable-silly vs. too silly is a subjective line, I'll grant...

Well, that was an absolute pleasure. The main range started the year beautifully, sagged a little in the middle, and has gone out on a high. Very atmospheric, very strong, small cast, very strong story and sound design. True horror/sci-fi playing to all their strengths ... and also to that thing people now insist on calling 'timey-wimey.' Apart from anything else (and how strong is the cliffhanger to episode three?), the trio of characters works incredibly well. I really hope that the slightly 'displaced' Constance has many more adventures with Flip and Old Sixie - there's not just an older/younger sister vibe from the two girls, it's also a meeting of two very different generations, becoming close, and complimenting each other's character. This is demonstrated, for me, very strongly in possibly my favourite moment amongst this story's very many favourite moments: on fearing the worst about Connie, Flip then greets her with an enthusiastic, "Hiya, babes!" Absolutely wonderful and laugh-out-loud funny, and beautifully inappropriate.
Nice to hear how close the TARDIS team have become from the actors in the extras. And great also to hear from David Graham - still doing the business after all these years. Difficult not to agree with Jamie Anderson about how cruel the Doctor's behaviour might be seen to be here. Possibly only the Sixth Doctor (or possibly the Seventh) that would take such a necessary hard line.
Tremendous. What a great trilogy this has been.

Now this one had to jump my listening queue. Amazingly spooky and very strong sound design which actually helps visualizing the creepy atmosphere. All I can say is I liked this better than Chimes of Midnight and I hope there's a follow-up to this Anything else I say would be spoilers

Jonathan Morris has delivered one of his most tension filled, scariest & suspenseful scripts ever & treated me & I'm sure many fans to one of the best Doctor Who stories I've heard in a long time.
I had goosebumps throughout listening to this amazing spooky story.
10/10
