Hello again. I am very tired. Tired of toxic debates. Tired of spin and false promises. Tired of the tinkering around the fringes when so much major work needs doing and those who have the power to make the necessary changes are unwilling to do so. I am tired of Brexit and Mr Johnson and the useless opposition parties. We have nothing to celebrate. There are no winners if the planet becomes uninhabitable. Well said sir. The planet is going to hell in a handcrart.we need to pull together not cause even more division.

No bonging for Brexit after all. It would have been a big bill...

And bunging a bushel of British bullion to balance booming bell Big Ben's Brexit bongs big bill would have been barking, bonkers and bafflingly barmy balderdash!
(With thanks to the spirit of Mr Henry Gordon Jago )

Parliamentary ping-pong on the Withdrawal Agreement commences today. The bill plus the amendments passed by the Lords in past few days will go back to the Commons, the amendments will likely all be overturned and then the bill goes back to the Lords.

After over a year of parliamentary drama, the Withdrawal Agreement has finally passed both Houses of Parliament.

Hello again. Well that is not surprising. It was dreadful. In reality, the real Brexit happens after the transition period, that is when things will really start to get interesting. The consequences of Brexit will be felt for years to come. I'm afraid, that things will not be easy, and possibly could have completely the reverse effect the Brexiteers thought.

Quote from Londo Mollari to G'Kar at the end of Babylon 5:
“When we met, I had no power and all the choices I could ever want. Now I have all the power I could ever want and no choices at all.”
The relevance to this thread?
Substitute the word control for power and you have a pretty good description of the paradox and tragedy of brexit
"Before brexit, the UK had no control and all the choices it could ever want. Now it has all the control it could ever want and no choices at all.”

I can't tell you how much more interested I am after hearing an intriguing quote like that. I think I might actually make an effort to track it down now... Thanks

Hello again.
Well, today is my last day as Federation ambassador to Peladon. Tomorrow, the Pels start their journey outside the Galactic Federation. The new Chancellor Boresh has prevailed where his predecessor, Mayesh was unable to convince her ministers to come to a decision.
Queen Erimem has expressed regret at my leaving Peladon but I really must think about retiring from diplomatic service.
The Pexit referendum has challenged the Federation to its foundations. However, I know the other members such as New Mars and Arcturus see the benefits of working together.
Farewell Peladon, my best wishes for your future and indeed to mighty Aggedor also. Extract from Alpha Centauri's final address to the Peladon Council.
