I will put myself forward You can't put yourself forward lol, but as you say you have experience I'll put you forward. I nominate kfbate, Tony Jones, TinDogPodcast (as you all seem to be asking the right questions) Cheers Tony Edit: Would 3 Mods plus the Admin be enough?

Given this is a 'free' facility, there are limits on how it can be customised. There is a directory of sites people might want to browse - that might give some ideas on look and feel / features that might be useful here: freeforums.net/forum-directory If you register your own forum you will see the limits of what is achievable - only a small number of plugins allowed for example. Also only 200 MB of storage before you have to pay $3 per month for 500 MB. Bronze costs $6 per month and allows more and bigger attachments for posts and 800 MB of storage Removing ads costs $6 oer month for up to 50,000 pageviews (not sure if that's good or bad) or if we would care Changing the URL costs $10 every time. Linking to a new DNS name costs (I think) over $10 per year. You can do more with self-hosting but run the risks of needing to pay more for that and having to do more work to get things going. Just as a for example I set up (please don't register) this in around an hour: tfmybb.redrocketrising.com/ just to explore the art of the possible. My sense is people are keen to gather here and make it as homely as possible. That might be better than nothing for a while (6 - 12 months) while a more bespoke option is created. Just my thoughts - I'll shut up now as I am struggling for spare time in the next few weeks, else I might push forward with my own idea, reluctant though I am to consider expanding the choice

oh - I also believe simplifying the layout at first is more important than setting up moderators. Everything I've read says start simple get complex if needed. At the moment we have a great sea of empty topics.
I like the idea others have said:
Big Finish> Doctor Who this covers main range, boxsets, companion chronicles, lost stories, short trips... Big Finish> Worlds of Doctor Who this covers J&L, Charley Pollard, Vienna, Torchwood, UNIT, Iris... Big Finish> Worlds of Big Finish this cover Blakes 7, Dark Shadows, Survivors, Omega Factor, Prisoner.. Big Finish> Other Big Finish topics this covers books, Big Finish Day, Release Expectation thread...
Other Audio - covers bafflegab, BBC Audio, AudioGo...
Podcasts / Reviews / Blogs - all in one bucket, not separate
Off-Topic
TV> Doctor Who TV> Other

I would suggest we have mods from a few different time zones since we have members from all over the globe. When I was modding for the Edmonton Oilers, my experience was that trouble makers were more active when they knew a moderator wasn't likely to respond quickly. Fortunately this group is much better behaved than a championship starved hockey team.
People with experience modding would be a good idea - though I think it isn't necessary, just a bonus. .

Definitely agree with mods from different time zones. However I also agree finding mods isn't a priority at the moment since we have all been well behaved and no spam so far. I think those categories are good Tony.

I think those categories are good Tony. It is all about keeping your house in order, with the right safeguards it is not difficult to do. I totally agree that we require a watchful eye that covers off the various timeszones.

I think this forum works nicely. I've been a member of some other forums on Proboards before and I think they are just fine. I do think that we need a more streamlined topic list and I like the name The Divergent Universe. I also think it's great that while the folks over at The Zero Room are arguing about how to set up a forum, this one is chugging along just fine.

As a dyslexic I found the purple ok. What's better? A darker color would be easier for me to read, personally. I have old eyes.

I have experience modding and would be willing to be put forward. I do think we may need more than 3 mods. I want to suggest Charles and nathangervais as mods, if they are willing, as they have been among those who were taking the lead in starting a new forum over on the Zero Room FB page, before we knew someone was setting up this forum.

If asked I would stand. I agree, more than three people would make sense - six might be a reasonable number.

I think simplifying the structure and a bit of artwork are as important as the name for now. We could call it K9's Kennel, but that doesn't have any particular Big Finish connotation. It's a challenge - I called my blog Red Rocket Rising specifically as I started with the Lucie Miller stories, and I got permission from Big Finish to use the name. Decisions, decisions!
