Could be, but quite a few people don't do BookFace ... me being one of them Cheers Tony EDIT: Also, why split our community? We already have a place to call home, who wants to have to go to two or more places ...

I hear what you are saying and it may well come to pass (as most things seem to go to BookFace these days), but I won't be following if it does. I'm happy here Cheers Tony

I'm happy here Cheers Tony It's a pity that web rings don't exist anymore, we could've called it the Axis of Time. Knowledge of this place tends to pass by word of mouth in my case. They're not the kind of people to sign up for accounts being happy to just watch, but they lurk and have an enjoyable read. It's been very effective.

I'm so old I remember bulletin boards, before the Internet ... and even before that . This is an interesting account and seems to blame GeoCities (anyone remember them?) and Yahoo for the ultimate demise. Sounds like me lol (apart from it should be the 70s) Cheers Tony

Ah, interesting to find out that people have always hated exclusive accounts to log into things, whether it be Yahoo or Google. I remember people the transition from dial-up to broadband, so I think it might've been just after the new millennium (that's circa 2000 for any far future archaeologists). Young enough to have GoldenEye be one of my first films, but not old enough to have an AOL account. They might've been disappearing just as we arrived, rran.

Well if my experience of them is anything to go by, they 1) Contained lots of dead links 2) Often contained links to sites of poor quality 3) Search engines provide better routes to finding relevant content

(This is getting 'Four Yorkshiremen' isn't it? 'I remember carving 'Doctor Who' updates on stone tablets and standing them in circles!')
