In another thread I said I hoped this would come out late next year, instead of potentially December, to give our wallets a rest. So I'm pleased about July. I guess this then follows The Lives of Captain Jack (which released in June). Is a precedent being set?
Also, given that last year's specials were Outbreak, a proper Torchwood epic with "the" three, the official 10th anniversary special, and Torchwood One. Ianto appears in the Torchwood One releases, the 10th anniversary was a once-off, and "proper" Torchwood is being fulfilled by Aliens Among Us this season. So the bases will be covered with Torchwood One in July and the continuing series in September - February. Hopefully, Scott Handcock and James Goss can keep things fresh, though.
If I have the time to tomorrow, I'll certainly be giving 'The War Machines' a re-watch!
Even if it does have the single worst companion exit ever (sorry Jackie!) I love The War Machines. Lovely performance from Hartnell especially with his iconic defiant stance and though he's only got a few stories left he's on great form. As are Michael Craze and Anneke. SO fresh and vibrant. It really feels to me the closest the Hartnell era got to The Avengers and I can see something of an embryonic Adam Adamant in it too.
I wonder if there'll be a "Doctor Who Is Required" reference in Machines
