Question for the dedicated listeners out there.
I'm seriously considering buying this, but haven't got series 10.
I know you-know-who is revealed at the end of series 10, but is series 10 going to be essential listening for me to be able to understand 11, as I can't stretch to both at the moment.

Not at this stage, only the surprise reveal of him in the cowl at the end links to 11.

The climax from a parallel universe:
"Cretins," the Master hissed at the captive Jago and Litefoot. "This isn't about anything quite so entertaining as revenge. This is about survival. MY survival". The Master leered at Jago and chuckled as the man pulled away from his burnt visage and cloying ordour of rot. "I am being hunted. Pursued by the most unlikely of hounds. He wants to take me back. But if I know the Doctor...." A voice interrupted him, old and heavy with broken promises and the burnt embers of hope and idealism "you of all people should know not to call me that." Someone limped into the vault. Stooped shoulders and heavy brows barely concealed a vitality that could only belong to one man. "Doctor?" Litefoot said, more in question than astounishment. There was something about him, something shared with both the exuberant man in the deerstalker and in the bolsterous man in the harlequin coat, but it was hidden under something else. Litefoot could only compare it to the shell shock of Afghanistan veterans, but only infinitely heavier. "Don't," he snapped, and then his voice softened, "call me that. Please Professor. I'll explain one day." He offered the trapped men a rare sight, a smile. It didn't last, he turned a scowl at the Master "you thought by forcinf yourself into regenerating into a past body we'd overlook you. But yo made a mistake, you threatened the Doctor's friends. He wouldn't like that and," now he snarled "I certainly don't". The Master, murderer thousand times over, torturer, thief, master criminal and psychopath actually cringed. He knew he'd crossed a line with a man whose conscience never stopped him from doing what he must. Th Doctor might have been cowed by the threat to Litefoot and Jago, but not this man. Not unless..... The Master chuckled, not unless he was the Doctor after all. "I know you," he drawled " I know the real you. The one no matter what face you wear, no matter what you've done in the War, the one who cries himself to sleep over a tread upon butterfly. You abhor what you've become, you abhor the War. But you care. You still care. It's why you hate yourself. But I don't care. I'll mirder those insects for fun. I'll murder them to slow you down just long enough to escape. Can your conscience wear that, Doctor?" The scowl never changed, but something in him did. He looked at Jago, he looked at Litefoot. He knew his duty to return the Master to Gallifrey. "I am not the Doctor," he warned "but ... These man are still my friends. Harm them and I will .... Well I will reply. But you. You my old friend," the venom in his voice thick, as was the weariness. "Just. Just LEAVE. One of us should escape this idiocy." Th Master laughed as he scuttled away. The Doctor released Jago and Litefoot with a wave of his Sonic Screwdriver.
"Doctor?" Jago approached him, placing a hand on his leather clad shoulder. The way he twitched and and looked at Jago almost made him remove ha hand in fear. Almost. "No matter what vicious visage, no matter what monstrous mien you adopt, your essential and eternal Elan and notable nobility is never far from your face." The Doctor looked at Jago, and no doubt it was a trick of the light, but his eyes were perhaps a bit wetter than before.

I know the Man in the Bandolier turns up a lot in this fan-fics of mine, but this is the first time I've actually made myself sad rereading what I wrote.

Loads for me, and J+L 11 hasn't dropped yet. Think it was just too many people hitting refresh waiting for this to appear. I'm on mobile at present so that will have been slowing my connection.

I can't get the website to load. Are Jago and Litefoot really that popular? Yes and with added Master and Ole Sixy Vol 11 will probably cater for those certain fans that don't find it popular, its all part of David Richardson's to get people hooked and buying everything featuring J&L!

Mine's downloading now but it's a slow process. This isn't a complaint - I'm glad these wonderful boxsets still command such demand. Long may it remain so :

I've listened to Jago & Son. Really enjoyed this, felt Jago was a little bit more reflective and that really suited the story. Tonight's listening will be Maurice

Thinking of buying this, and I've seen the casting. I just pray that Vastra and co aren't in it.

Are we supposed to already know who "Jean Bazemore" is as of the first story? I'm getting a little forgetful in my old age.

Are we supposed to already know who "Jean Bazemore" is as of the first story? I'm getting a little forgetful in my old age. I think that the this is a working thread. {Spoiler} The first episode explores the principle of an earlier part of both Jago and Litefoots life in respect of Jago having a potential offspring, and the relationship between Jean and Litefoot. I wonder in my own mind as to whether Big Finish could pull at this thread more, and perhaps we will get an audio prequel adventures of a Jago and Litefoot younger histories. Who knows, all good funIf you have listened to the first episode, then, there is an obvious

Second story, Maurice, is rather weird. I think I liked it, but it was not what I was expecting.
