I suspect BF will be ramping up their output further over the coming year, I'm expecting more new Who era stuff plus I would expect further diversification into other none Who ranges too. I'm also wondering if BF have reached the point where some licence holders start to seek BF out as producers.

If that happens BF are seriously going to have to re-think their PR stratagem, they're STILL getting Tweets and Social Media posts asking when they'll be able to use the War Doctor and River Song, or ones comememting that now they have post 2005 characters BF is finally worth getting into!

Well they could hardly do moee to promote these ranges on social media, they're constantly posting about them. Actually I think they're at audience saturation point now, releasing over £500 a years worth of material. Any further releases could just cannibalise the customer base, resulting in them producing more to sell the same amount.

lol, they release well over £500 worth of Who related products per year, so far this calendar year, on new Who and in Who universe releases alone, I've spent £1469.93 already. Now of course for many that level of spending will be unsustainable, for me it represents a huge proportion of my discretionary spending, and existing customers will need to decide what they can buy and what they cannot, but BF are also very clearly attracting in a huge number of new customers and for the moment at least I expect the new customers will more than compensate for canabalisation that happens.

Christ, remember not that long ago the licence was in jeapordy according to some How fast things change! We're getting more Who than ever. I can see myself prioritising more going forward and leaving some ranges for eventual sales. There's just too much going on. Not just financially but there's only so much listening that can be done. I'd hate to be one of the fans who buys BF just to have it sit on the shelf.

Haven't hit a real hardship yet... I think I have about $150/mo. max disposable income, which provides that I can get most of the new releases off the presses and still do a lot of catching up with the back catalog. Imagine when I'm caught up, I can catch all the new stuff and still save money away.
I will want to save up money for Christmas so I'm probably going to have to hold off on older releases for a couple of months now, but that will help me catch up some with listening to past purchases. Anything I'm never going to listen to would be hard to justify buying, but as always I can go through a good number of audios when I put my mind to it.

I've definitely had to start prioritising this year. Like David said, it's the time commitment as well as finances.

The recent sales have had quite a lot that I didn't have. Combined with pre-orders on must own items like the War Doctor and 10th Doctor sets it's been a dizzying amount of Big Finish. At this point, I'm planning to carve out major portions of upcoming holidays and using those days to catch up with my listening.

I don't have any problem finding time to listen to everything, that's the easy part. I'm starting to struggle to keep on top of buying everything now. I've a month or so 'buffer' in as much as I'm preordered for all of the December releases and a couple of Januarys. I need a month or two where we are release-lite to try and get my preorders back to three months. I always had been at least that far ahead of myself but I just can't afford to do it now with so much being released. I can foresee a time where I need to start being more selective with the ranges. It just feels that at present there's no let up in the schedule, no real breathing space. I'm getting to the point where it's stressing me out knowing that I've still got a list as long as your arm to preorder. I look at the forthcoming releases in Vortex and despair, how on earth am I ever going to manage to get all this ordered!

Ahh, here's my dilemma. I can work and afford it all but not have time to listen to it, or not work and have time to listen to it all but not be able to afford it.

Unfortunately I'm not in a position to work any longer, so time to listen is not a problem.
However, when I was working, I used to listen once I was in bed, I actually found that a great way to listen for a number of reason, firstly because I would often fall asleep before hearing all the story and would sometimes end up taking 4 or 5 nights before hearing it all, but the best part was that occasionally the story would get tied up into my dreams, which just gave me the coolest dreams possible.

I listen while I work. Big Finish is one of the few things I do have time for working full time.

What impresses me with the increased output every year, is the level of writing still seems to be pretty consistent. I know BF have a large-ish pool of writers, but there is a core that consistently produce excellent stories no matter how many they seem to churn out. It would be interesting to know how long it generally takes them to produce a completed story (and whether they actually sleep at all!). That's why I don't mind ranges coming to an end, as long as they keep producing great stories, I'll keep buying them ... altho' I find myself having to prioritise more.
Cheers
Tony

In exactly the same boat. Yes I see from your avatar that you are sat in it! Lord Tennyson would surely approve. To paraphrase Tennyson . . . The bank account crack'd from side to side; "The Big Finish release schedule has outpaced me," cried The Lady of Shalott.
