There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Scored a package in the mail from Discworld.com. It included 6 Discworld audio plays, a dramatisation of Only You Can Save Mankind and the version of Good Omens that was broadcast in 2014 which featured Neil and Terry as traffic cops in Episode 1. Can’t wait to get stuck in!

JB Hi-Fi had some uber deals on today, so I made the most of it! I started by upgrading 3/4 of my Marvel collection from DVD to Blu-ray by buying three of the four "Phase" collections. The Blu-ray editions are the size of a single case, so I'm saving about 13 DVD cases worth of space with the upgrade! I then checked their website when I got home. I'd seen the complete X-Files Blu box set in-store for about $385 (pre-discount). The website listed it at $175 pre-discount though, with the discount reducing it to about $120. I could hardly say no to eleven season of television on Blu-ray for that price, could I? I figured that was probably all the money I needed to spend today (Especially after the quarterly Big Finish pre-orders earlier this week...)

Mate, I videotaped direct off the tv X Files, all 9 seasons, pausing all the commercial breaks.. Did this for Seinfeld as well
I check the JB Hifi website literally everyday at work- mainly to see if Australia is getting the Who classic blu rays..

I cannot comprehend how much space that sort of VHS collection would take up! Kudos for the dedication!! I check it fair regularly too, mostly so I know when I can finally pre-order lots of forthcoming releases that Sanity has already listed for 2 months As for the Classic Who Blu-rays, have you considered importing the UK re-releases? The UK region coding is identical to Australia's, so you should be able to buy the first 2 right now (and I think the next 2 are out within the next couple of weeks).

New haul from Arrow and Indicator: Daimajin Trilogy. A kinda Japanese Golem Kaiju story. Wonderfully bleak. True Romance. Lovely deluxe box of one of the best cult films of the 90s. Vengeance Trails. Four Spaghetti Westerns, including names like Sergio Martino, Lucio Fulci, Klaus Kinski and Franco Nero. The Big Fix. One of Richard Dreyfus' best roles. Day Of The Dolphin. Bonkers political thriller with George C. Scott Invincible. Underrated Werner Herzog from 2001, with Tim Roth.

Very exciting release for me, the 10th Anniversary of The Story Of Film. Mark Cousins' 10 part epic which really does span the history of cinema - from the Lumiere Brothers and Edison to modern blockbusters. He goes to explore booming eras in Bollywood and Nigeria, Senegal and Japan. A true marvel. I've been lucky enough through a friend of a friend to be in Mark's company a good few times (he lives in Scotland despite the heavy Northern Irish accent) and you'll never see someone so excited to talk movies - ANY movies. Last time I saw him he'd just a tattoo done that read simply "Eisenstein", his hero of filming and editing. This is a must have for ANY serious film fan. And another "I've been waiting years for this" - Bringing Up Baby is FINALLY on blu. From Criterion, no less. No more barely watchable prints stuck onto cheap videos and DVDs. And, apropos of nothing, here's my new Inframan blu with it

It’s not something I was aware of, but sounds completely up my street. Will add this to my Network list for when their sale next rolls round. Enjoy!

Dungeons & Dragons: Adventure Begins. Is there a board games thread like there is for TV, Film and Video Games?
