Audio Watchdog and I were talkin about it earlier. We love ours. Severin....wow. I hear that some people have managed to get their hands on this lovely boxset, but I can't get mine until it's released in February. Was it only available as a limited release or something? Either way, it looks absolutely stunning, both in content and packaging. I'm familiar with about three films, but the rest will be new to me. I can't wait - I'm very envious of those who have got this already!

What a treat this promises to be (you'll know, I'm sure, 2000ad's folk horror story 'Thistlebone 2' is now available to preorder, by the way). I also love the latter day Hammer collection (getting it). I do feel that Hammer's more interesting films can be located toward the end of their run. 'Vampire Circus, for example, is a true gem. When you say we are spoilt beyond belief these days', you are not wrong. Such love and attention is lavished on these classic horror films. Truly, we never had it so good!

Dr Jekyll & Sister Hyde is probably my favourite latter from them. The book for All The haunts alone is just...wow. I was expectin the usual...nice essays etc. But folk poetry and short stories etc? Wunderbar! EASY pick for 2021 despite the nick of that outer box!

New vid! Sorry to be "that", but likes, shares, subs and comments appreciated! An overview of all Dan-Bonds Great video Davy! I love your assessment of Casino Royale, Skyfall & No Time to Die, agree with them completely. I'm actually really fond of Quantum of Solace, rapid editing aside, but I completely understand your views. I think if EON managed to get a 2010 film out as originally intended, then Quantum would be better thought of, in the sense that we wouldn't have the big gap between Quantum - being an epilogue to Casino - and Skyfall - where Bond is deemed to be past it. The video game Blood Stone helps me out with that, and also actually lends itself to SPECTRE too, but appreciate that's much more of a niche than the film! SPECTRE I really like too, although I think that last hour is undercooked and does ultimately end up falling flat, although No Time to Die does help it out somewhat. Then again, I adore the first three Brosnan's and think Die Another Day only falls apart when it gets to the car chase, so what do I know?! I got Casino - SPECTRE on 4K in a HMV flash sale when they were a tenner apiece when No Time to Die was released. Looking forward to doing a full rewatch of the Craig era!

Yea, Quantum was compromised. Even a writers strike caused Craig and Forster to work on script amendments alone. I think they just fell too much in love with the Casino plot and tried to extend it, and missed the idea "No, he IS 007 now" as he is still treated as this rookie. A timejump was needed. Then in Skyfall when we DID have one...hes now too old. We went from his first mission to him past it with not a bean in the middle! Brosnan I love as an actor (everyone watch The Matador!) - but his Bond has one wonderful film in Goldeneye (written for Dalton, and it often shows) - one solid one in Tomorrrow Never Dies (Pierce is at his best as Bond in it), one "OK..." one with The World Is Not Enough which is a re-write away from bein up there and one disaster with Die Another Day which Pierce even hates. Must post your opinions on the watch-thru!

Just booked tickets for a 3D audio drama show on the 5th of February, 2 hours drive away. I desperately needed something to look forward to. COVID be damned. For 2 years, I have not done anything nerdy since all conventions and events were postponed. So I decided to just book tickets and hotel. This will be awesome. It is a specially designed 3D audio show with light effects and is a 2 hour episode of Germany's most popular audio drama series. I have read the graphic novel that came out a couple of years ago, and it is the best one so far. I am really looking forward to this. Other fans have told me that this 3D event is something really special.

I finally got a nice copy of The Lord of the Rings! It's an Illustrated hardcover boxset w/ illustrations and nice, big, glossy pages. I've wanted a nice copy for years... until now all I had was an old, well-worn omnibus paperback w/ the movie tie-in cover.

I've wanted a nice copy for years... until now all I had was an old, well-worn omnibus paperback w/ the movie tie-in cover. My daughter has a nice copy. All I have is the old original (well-worn) Ballantine paperback books with the fanciful illustrations. Believe me when I tell you the ones pictured here are in better condition than my books.
