If you go to the user's page, the settings cog icon will give you a "Block Member" option. I imagine that blocks that member's posts for just you when you're reading threads they're participating in, though I'm not sure as I haven't needed to use it. Hope that helps  |

I use it, it hides the posts of said user and leaves a big button to open the post in its place.
It doesn't however hide anything else, so you get to see quotes and the person you ignoring still gets listed in recent posts etc
It's better than nothing, but not what I would really want from such a feature.
And yeah, one of the huge positives for me on leaving the mod team was realising that there were people I could now ignore whereas before I really had no choice to but to pay attention to.

So I will answer it on face value: People will characterise the forum the way they find it, and i's clear that some don't feel that it a friendly place. For myself, I find the forum a very friendly place, but there is one person I find to be morally bankrupt, espousing heinous and hateful views and I have no desire to interact or indeed even be exposed to anything they say. |

Or what?  um, it is, until I get going...I upset the balance around here...they might not admit it, but it's still the truth...they know it, and I know it, and I guess it bothers them a lot more than it bothers me, I don't get offended easy, not saying they do, but hey...I did get suspended for inviting a member to bulls gap, and encouraging him to, I'm my words "man up" and call me a liar to my face...I explained what would happen if he did, and I got suspended...for telling the truth, I didn't lie, I didn't promote violence, I just stated a fact... For the folks on here, offended by me and my attitude, yeah, please ignore me...for those with some "intestinal fortitude," thank you, Mick Foley, that actually want to know what the other side is thinking, why they are thinking that way, what seperates us, what links us, and what we can do about it...well, if we cant figure some common ground, on a site, devoted to a timelord who tries to leave a place better than he found it, help others, fight for the oppressed, and try to be on the side of the angels(not the weeping ones) most of the time...if we cant find some common ground, there may not be any to be found, and we might just have to start taking that next step of what will you give me for such and such....if you don't believe me, watch the DACA battle right before Christmas, might get pushed back again, but i wouldn't put money on that... And yes, i do go on...i always have, i can type well over 100 words per minute, pretty good for a giant truck driver, i can not type near as fast as i can think...but anyway....i am sorry i do carry on so...but a lot of it, is my complex thinking, effect and counter effect, and seeing all the possible options, and effects from the options...anyway, sorry about that part of it... Seriously guys, if you don't wanna read my stuff, ignore me, and ill promise to do my best to ignore subjects that i know for a fact, most on here, care a great deal about... Jason, my father taught me that 'only a fool is positive,' but I know who you're talking about, and so does anyone else on here, with just half a brain, so pretty much everyone on here......I am morally bankrupt, because I follow Christ, His teachings, and since I actually know it, and can quote it, answer any question posed to me as a Christian, saved by Grace in the faith of my risen Lord, and you don't like hearing the truth, period...You don't want to obey the Bible, you want the Bible to transform to fit you, and it does NOT work that way, never has, never will... My hateful views would be my views on same sex marriage, I would assume, as ive said, ill try to avoid that topic, though with the cake man going in front of SCOTUS last week, that is going to be a big story one way or another, very soon...Robbing Christians of their rights to promote the LGBT cause, yeah, folks you might really want to ignore that subject...That is one that will burn down many chat boards... Strangely enough, this is the one Doctor Who forum that doesn't raise my blood pressure! Everybody here is ok... even the ones I don't agree with.
