For anyone interested, here's a potential list of all the studio/location/model work footage that may be included on the Season 17 set (I can't find any listing online at the moment of what will definitely be on it): Destiny of the Daleks: n/a City of Death: Nearly four hours of B&W studio material (with burnt-in timecode) exists, as well as the mute model/landscape work and chicken wrangling material on the DVD release. Apparently, "other 35mm and 16mm film material" also exists, but I don't know what it contains. The Creature from the Pit: The extended (unedited cut of) Part 3 contains one additional scene of "the guards being stabbed". It's featured on the DVD release and apparently lasts for 25 seconds according to the DVD Specials Features Wiki. Nightmare of Eden: n/a The Horns of Nimon: There is apparently an unedited cut of Part Two, but due to it being B&W with a timecode, they may just include any deleted sequences as a special feature rather than presenting it as an "extended" version like TCftP 3. Shada: Well, everything that was recorded exists as far as I know, so there's huge potential for studio and location footage for this story. Some of this was included on the 2017 release of the story. For anyone after a complete list of such things, I highly recommend the book Wiped! Doctor Who's Missing Episodes by Richard Molesworth. I've got the updated edition released in 2013 (released before the Enemy/ Web recovery), and it includes the complete archival status of Doctor Who at that time, including what format the episodes exist on today and what additional material to do with each story also exists (hence the above list). It's a fascinating read

Oh, you have really missed out.
From the video box set with Tom doing link narration through the animated and the 8th Doctor audio one... Oh, and the Dirk Gently spin-off with the Professor...
Will all these versions be on the blu-ray? No idea, sweetie. I don't have a blu-ray player.
I already have all the classic Who on DVD, so why would I waste my pension on a second version? I only 'upgraded' from videotape because I ran out of room and I was still in decent employment so could afford it. The player still works fine for me.

So when is BF gonna do a multi-Davros story? Technically - Palindrome was a multiDavros story.

Any idea what the "enhanced" animation for Shada entails? I'm hoping they reanimated the shots where the camera zooms in and suddenly everything's pixelated...

Please refrain from referring to me as sweetie. I find it too over familiar. Thank you.

I don’t think it’s any more than a nicer way of saying they’ve split it into six parts, but I’m sure DWM will give some more detail when they cover the set.

Yes, it does seem odd that the copy separated the "enhanced" and "in six episodes for the first time" into two separate parts so maybe it has been touched up a bit and a few corners were cut to get it out for Christmas '17. I doubt it'll be a night and day difference like the special edition of Power Of Daleks which blows the 2016 one out the water but here's hoping.

I’ve been wondering when they’ll make a start on the B/W Blu-Ray sets.
Season 1: Reign of Terror has been animated, Marco Polo hasn’t. Maybe they will leave it for that set. Season 2: The Crusade hasn’t been animated. They say it would be hard to because of the amount of cast members so they can either use telesnap reconstructions of the missing episodes, or maybe they’ll be found if we’re lucky. Season 3: Galaxy 4 animated, Mission to the Unknown has been remade, no other story has had either treatment. Season 4: all but the Smugglers and the Highlanders have been animated or reconstructed in the case of the Underwater Menace. Season 5: all missing stories bar the Abominable Snowmen and the Wheel in Space have been animated. The latter has been reconstructed on Britbox which they could use. Season 6: the Invasion has been animated, the Space Pirates hasn’t.

That will give the animations another 3 or so years to catch up

Email from Amazon. Season 17 release pushed back 1 week I got the email too. A delay on these things seems part of the deal, so I prepared for this announcement! Should still get it before Christmas though, and I can't think of a more perfect festive gift.
