New vid! Not one, not two but..OK, it IS two. Two Doctor Who Boxsets out today, all unboxed, impersonated, commented on and...the usual waffle. www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfjxLDK4bUw'Lovely, lovely, lovely.' Despite promising to wait until July to get this, I've weakened and ordered it today after watching this vid - so it's *your* fault, Davy! It was really a party political broadcast for the "Anyone But Tory" Party, a diss to Clive Swift and a chance for some impression.....so a normal Monday, really.

Cracking video @davygallagher. I do watch them but often forget to comment, sorry!
Completely agree about Timelash; I bloody love it. Your description of the Jacqueline Pearce commentary is spot on. And, of course, never ever vote Tory.
Really excited for my copy to arrive. Season 22 isn’t a favourite, but features wise I think it’s probably one of the most appealing instalments of The Collection to date. Plus I have a signed BBC TV card from Colin back in March that I’m dying to put in this set!

Davy! Who not two separate unboxing videos, is 'new improved' 4K Doctor Who & The Daleks movie not worthy of a feature all to itself? To include it with a season that includes TimeLash is a wee bit naughty! Loved the Peter Cushing impersonation though!

The Paul Darrow, Pat T and William Hartnell came out OK but I cannae do Cushin as Who (do a decent Frankenstein) or Colin. I hope the fact I ALSO purchased this makes up for my sins!

If you're not careful, you too could have a carpet like mine.
Seriously, though, isn't this gorgeous? I'm not sure if Perpugilliam Of The Brown popped round with fish and chips for two could I be happier.
"Are they really disturbing, these videos you sell?"

Series 22 Featurette spoilers -
Not that anyone should be encouraged to give a monkey's about how I spend my time, but I've just finished viewing all six episodes of Behind the Sofa (I think that's my favourite ongoing featurette in these sets). I found it al fascinating - Sylvester, Peter and Colin (and co) discussing thoughts on the finished stories and anecdotes from behind the scenes, all in good humour - even when Peter and Janet Fielding have a squabble about female directors! Wendy Padbury's dislike of some of the more gratuitous violence mirrored a certain element of the viewership, and Colin'c overview of the season and how it was perceived, is all fascinating and often very touching; for a Doctor who has languished at the bottom of polls, he is genuinely supportive of his time and justifiably happy with it. Bless 'im. Bless 'em all.

I'll stop clogging up this thread after this - honest. But I wanted to discuss the Michael Grade interview which I've just watched. Mild Grade-shaped spoilers follow.
I don't agree with his opinion of Doctor Who at the time, or at all; I don't agree with him publically slating the show and saying it should be more like Star Wars, whilst only being able to provide a fraction of the budget. But he's difficult to disagree with on so many other things, and it's clear that the cancellation of Doctor Who is just a very small part of a long and distinguished career. What I take away from this featurette is that he admits he's got things wrong on occasion, and he's quite candid about that - the haitus is, in my view, one of those moments. To keep the producer with the show when he wanted desperately to leave, and to maintain a very paltry budget, is wrong, I think - but by this time, Grade had lost interest in Doctor Who's welfare and future, had made the decision to bin it, and was surprised it lasted four more years after its 18 month break - we were lucky to get as many series as we did, it seems.
A really fascinating interview, between two very knowledgable and erudite people, and pretty much essential viewing, I should say. While I wanted Matthew Sweet to ask how any technical improvement could have been made on the meagre budget, I loved the questions he did ask - even the Liza Goddard story got a mention!
Another reason I'm really glad I bought this set.

And S22 is straight in at Numero Uno on the UK bluray chart knocking off The Batman. Doctor Who & The Daleks 4K is #3, too!

(And I've already popped in the bonus disc to watch Terrance and Me, which was lovely.)

Presumably Mark Strickson. He’s in the UK this week, and Janet and co. were in Amsterdam last week, so mopping up the long awaited Season 20 and hopefully cracking on with 21! Fingers crossed for an announcement soon!

Here’s how I think they should do the In Conversation interviews:
Season 15: Louise Jameson
Season 20: Sarah Sutton, Janet Fielding
Season 21: Mark Strickson, Eric Saward
Season 25: Andrew Cartmel
