This is looking impressive, Jeri Ryan back as Seven Of Nine & hasn't lost any of her sex appeal. And the icing on the cake Data is back. As a 10 year old 7 of 9 didn’t do much for me but now, Jeri Ryan is GORGEOUS.

Awesome. Really looking forward to this- Picard is my childhood hero. And great that they bring all these beloved characters back! Plus, it has Romulans in it. What more could you want?
Also, I met Jeri Ryan on my very first convention I went to. Great that they got her back, too.

I suspect you're right, but we don't know that! FWIW the fuzzy/'grey-area canon' comic Countdown had Data 'resurrected' into B-4's body and commanding the Enterprise at the time of the Hobus supernova.

I wonder if they'll go the route of an amalgam? A bit of Data and a bit of B-4.

A mismash of little conflicting personality quirks. I'd love to see what they can come up with for the interactions between Data/B-4 and Seven. Actually, any news on whether or not Seven is joining the main cast or will she be there for the pilot only?

I've seen it pointed out though in certain sites' trailer breakdowns that it looks like she appears both at his home in France, and in the ship he ends up on. I have a sneaking suspicion we may not get off Earth in the first episode, so possibly she may be in more than one. Of course, I have a knack for being 100% wrong about these things

Fingers crossed that she does make the transition, I'd enjoy seeing her in the same capacity as Garak on DS9. The recurring character that's practically a member of the main cast save that they're pursuing different objectives.

I've seen one video theorizing that the Data we see talking and playing cards is a hologram. That Picard is reliving the good ol' days, playing poker with a fallen friend. It could be the first scene we see of Picard, serving as a direct continuation of the final scene from "All Good Things". If that theory turns out to be true, it'd be a neat callback to the episode where Data plays poker with long-dead scientists as well.
I think the first *footage* we may get of Picard in the pilot episode is the street scene of him featuring on the video program (A news program? A documentary or retrospective on Romulus' destruction?). Presenting the info-dump on Romulus while also establishing that Picard has become a recluse.

That was what was hinted at in the Star Trek comic that lead into the Abram's films i think

In the sitcom Blunt Talk, Spiner played Stewart's piano playing pal he told his troubles to....I could see this being the Picard version of that with Data being a hologram, or in Picard's mind. I doubt he'll have a big role. Ditto 7 of 9 who I bet is only in an ep or two.

I suspect you're right, but we don't know that! FWIW the fuzzy/'grey-area canon' comic Countdown had Data 'resurrected' into B-4's body and commanding the Enterprise at the time of the Hobus supernova. So far as I recall, this was one of those times when they said it was very definitely without question canon, with the full expectation of that status not lasting more than five minutes; nevertheless, if it isn't this it's the hologram theory.
(I must say, I much prefer the alternative resurrection of Data in the novels. I wouldn't put it past that guy to fake up the false identify of B4; he could certainly do it, no trouble.).

Yeah I call it fuzzy/grey area just because traditionally Trek canon is ONLY what is depicted on TV or in movies, and anything else is explicitly non-canon....except the writers of the 2009 film treated Countdown as fact, so its place is a bit fuzzy. (However judging by your comment I suspect you know all this already and I'm preaching to the choir here)

As Riker and Troi are confirmed to be showing up, what's the canonicity status of the USS Titan design from the books?
EDIT: Hmm, Riker might have become captain of whatever iteration of Enterprise exists by the time the series begins...

As Riker and Troi are confirmed to be showing up, what's the canonicity status of the USS Titan design from the books? None. With the possible ‘grey area’ exceptions like the Countdown comic and the starship ‘technical manual’ reference books (supposedly the writers referenced these books ALL THE TIME during the TNG days), if it didn’t appear on TV or in a movie, it’s 100% non-canon. That’s not to say that the Picard folks won’t give book stuff a nod. They very well may, since the current iteration of the franchise has a few of the book writers aboard as either writers or consultants (Kirsten Beyer on Discovery, David Mack on Picard). But until and unless that happens...
