Strange New Worlds is 7 for 7, but I’m very much looking forward to this episodes follow up. Those last few minutes were awesome!

Just watched first 3 eps of SNW on Paramount +. Very very good indeed. I fear Kirk's brother may be overegging it a bit, but we'll see.

SNW has been very very good so far. I thought 107 was kind of a miss (for me the guest actress was so terrible it dragged down the entire experience), but otherwise the batting average is extremely high. And this week's episode, 108, what a blast.

I don't think they've had a dud yet. I'm loving every one. It's so great to have Star Trek that I actually look forward to.

Strange New Worlds via SKY
I must say I haven't enjoyed Trek this much since DS9!
Brilliant take on Spock. A personable and believable Captain. hints of intriguing backstory for everybody. Well rounded takes on situation of each EP.
I think my only complaint is that there's so many good characters your occasionally wondering what the ones offscreen are doing instead of focusing on what's on screen.

I suppose that's another problem with these 12-episode seasons; the old cable model gave ya' twice as manny episodes to play with, making it easier for little diversions focusing on the secondary and tertiary cast.
Potentially this is something Short Treks could kinda-sorta remedy, but I don't know that they're still making those.

I’ll be quite sad next week when the finale airs, but Season 2 just wrapped and Season 3 already announced. Truly think that Strange New Worlds is going to stand amongst as one of the best series in Star Trek!

10 episodes is a bit disappointing, but given that much of this first season would've been produced during the worst of the pandemic, I think they've accomplished a lot. Granted I'm still on,y three episodes in, but I'm loving SNW so far.
As for a third season... I would not be surprised. They've been renewing these new Trek shows long before finding out if fans liked them or not. It lends the i Pression that they're throwing everything they have at the wall and... just assuming it'll stick. I can only assume this'll lead to some ugly cancellations, as tends to happen with Star Trek.

Same thing with Short Treks, Lower Decks, Picard, Prodigy when it was first picked up, Twilight Zone, Halo (though this was cut to 9 after production began). Even Discovery is going to 10 in its fifth season, now that the Netflix arrangement is over.

More disappointing in that I was expecting 12. Dunno where I got that number, but I googled it back when the series started and one of those random clickbait sites that game SEO said 12, so that was in my mind.
Anyway, I'm watching ep4 tonight! Gonna try to pace myself slowly (not always difficult) since it seems like it'll be a while before S2. I'm also kinda anxious about the finale... saw a trailer and it raised a lot of red flags for me (EG empty-high-stakes).
