I just reviwed the free short story The Case of the Missing Fairy for The Doctor Who Companion. I thought it was a fun little story and it's made me want to check out some more. Does the series have its own continiuity? Do I need to read them all in order or can I start with any that takes my fancy? I have my eye of The Beast of Fang Rock. Are there any to avoid? What do people think about the range in general?

I'd definitely recommend starting with the first book. As it introduces some new characters. The second important to a few later books as well. Then Times Squared from series 3 and Night of the Intelligencw from series 4 are the other important ones. But I'd recommend reading all of them.

Alright then. They don't look too expensive on Kindle. I hope you enjoy them. They are some of my favorite Who related works.

You definitely need to start with the first of the books so you know the characters and set up. There are some really enjoyable ones in there. Have fun.

Fantastic series, some of the early books may only be available as ebooks or through used book dealers. I’m pretty sure at least one of the books from series one is either no longer available, or only available directly from Candy Jar. There are a number of limited runnbooks in the series which are only available from Candy Jar, which is a bit of a pain if you aren’t in the UK as the shipping is bloody expensive. Still, the series has improved with each book, so gettingnthe, is well worth the investment.

Every time you bring these up, coffeeaddict I look at them, but there's so many of them now, I'm not sure I want to invest the money. Once I get started...

Every time you bring these up, coffeeaddict I look at them, but there's so many of them now, I'm not sure I want to invest the money. Once I get started... Start at the beginning - it will help you get some of the things that are referenced in later books. Some of the earlier books are no longer available in print format, but I do believe all are available on Kindle. You should be able to get most of the early stuff from used book dealers too. The Havoc Files, the novellas and the most recent releases are all limited edition runs only available for purchase from Candy Jar.

For the rest of the week the Kindle version of Moon Blink (the fifth book in the series) is available for free. This book is written by Sadie Miller, Elisabeth Sladen's daughter.
Candy Jar does from time to time make the Kindle copies available for free, so it is worth keeping an eye out for them if you are interested in the series.

It was announced on their Twitter feed yesterday and again today. I found it by searching Amazon. They apparently have some free downloads on their website, too. And the tweet about the free book is visible on the right side of their home page, where they inserted their Twitter feed into the webpage. A few of the books are free to read if you have Kindle Unlimited (I don't).

Maybe they’re putting greater focus on their Lucy Wilson series? Enable them to do some original stuff I guess without having to constantly refer back to The Brigadier all the time.
