What are our resolutions?

What are our resolutions? I vow not to drink too much at the 2018 New Year's Eve party. That way even if I break my resolution I'll have kept it for 365 days, and that's not a bad run. And to be serious: If a task takes less than two minutes, just do it right away. I don't know if this truly counts as a resolution, seeing as I started it a few days before the new year, but I think it's worth it. Rather than watching my coffee heat up in the microwave I'll wash two minutes worth of dishes. You can get more accomplished in that time than you probably think. It really does add up.

Lose weight. (What else is new? ) Exercise more (I guess that's a corollary to "lose weight". ) Study for my specialty re-certification exam that takes place in April (haven't started yet). Most importantly: Get together with family more.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

In no especial order:
Don't eat so much junk food. Be more proactive at work. Look after my family. Be a better friend. Write more. Be kind.

Lose Weight (This comes up every year ) Curtail shopping (specifically stop buying more and more clothes.. Strangely even after a full wardrobe, I never seem to find anything suitable to wear..) Stop being a workaholic and try to have more me-time Tour as many places as money and time can permit Catch-up on reading (I've been spoilt by audios lately..)

You know... we could have a mutual fitness/weight loss support thread here... just a thought.
After my knee opp (s) and my love of cheese. I need to do the same.

This seems to be one of the common factors for most of us here A good idea actually... a thread dedicated to weight loss could motivate me.. My love of chocolates is the killer for me Exercise while we listen to big finish?... My weight loss plan involves walking whilst listening to the Big Finish App, so I'm up for it. I can usually only do 30 mins a day on my lunch break which is enough time for 1 DW episode. This week I am starting a 2nd Dr Lost Stories listen thru all 4 of them, which will take me 4-5 weeks (or more if it rains a lot during lunchtime).
I don't have a weight loss target in lbs and oz, I am aiming for 2 trouser sizes less, from a 38 waist to a 34 waist. I used to be a 32 waist when I was 20 but that might just be too ambitious ....

can i just put that please be careful with weight loss goals from diets.......far from it being the golden ticket to hit your target it can cause much more serious problems as happened to me.
if you are more than 3 stone overweight (approx. a third or more of your ideal weight) please please please consult a doctor as the best way to go about it.
the press and the whole "well being" industry make a packet from selling you a dream.
the only way is to change your life, and outlook on food and especially drink.
for those interested i was 15ish stone and 8 years ago i thought enough and took to a diet (weight watchers plan) i thought i was doing really well when i hit 13 stone after 18 months, i thought that's it great, but the weight kept falling off....to cut a long story short the weight loss and excess sugar in the diet (low fat) foods, triggered diabetes to start which in turn almost killed me, gave me heart problems and triggered all manner of other complications.
now if i had not got to 15 stone possibly the problems would not have started but please think about changing lifestyle not dieting as that was defiantly the catalyst for my problems i went from a chubby but perfectly fit n well to a bit less chubby sickly wreak.
but just stay safe.
but i probably told you all this before, but new year and all this talk of losing weight make me worry.

It's true that you have to be really careful about how you go about losing weight, especially if you have a lot of weight you want to lose. I don't. I've used a couple of different food intake tracking apps and exercise. At one point I was on Weight Watchers, but I don't think I want to pay them again.
Also, not good to lose weight too fast. Slow and gradual, with a sensible diet, is the best.
And definitely consult your healthcare provider before you embark on any major weight loss plan.

My main goal this year is to, after almost two years now since my last one, finally make another film!
Like many others on here, it would be nice to loose a few more pounds (nothing drastic, maybe about six-or-so pounds)

I, on the other hand, weigh myself almost every day. I'm not getting heavier, but I'm not getting (much) lighter, either.
