Congratulations to them. 😊 It would be a shame if nobody on here got close.

Congratulations to them. 😊 It would be a shame if nobody on here got close. Actually referring to "rejection", if I'm not mistaken.

Hello again.
If they sent me an email this year it would be "Sorry, you're not even in the right galaxy!"
It's funny, I was much happier with my entries last year than this year. I was rather late with my entries only submitting in the last week. So my editing process was somewhat curtailed.
Anyway best of luck everyone. Looking forward to hearing the winner. There's always next year... "The huge gorilla blocked their way. It was not what you expect to see in a supermarket. Leela stood still looking the creature up and down wondering if it would attack. The Doctor reached into his pocket, "Now then old chap, would you like a banana? Bananas, are really rather good you know."

If I did, I would take that as a badge of honour, but still feel a bit disappointed at the same time. I submitted two this year, one of them is being written in full; already considering Mixital if this story doesn't win. Nevertheless, still haven't got an email, and that's fine by me.

I have received one of Ian's personalised rejection letters for one of my entries, which is a lovely honour in itself. I really poured my heart into both entries this year so I would have been in a bit of a funk if I hadn't heard at all. It's the first time a rejection letter has actually improved my mood! Nothing back about the second one, but that was probably not as strong as the first so I wouldn't be surprised not to hear about it at all.

It's great that Ian goes out of his way to send these messages out, it is a lovely touch. When did you receive your email?

Getting, at least, a notice is better than nothing, and I do hope you get to use one or both of your entries, for something else, in the (near) future. I haven't so far received any emails regarding my submissions; not sure if they've been shortlisted or still yet to be read (rather not anticipate), but I don't mind at all.

Oh bugger, just realised there was a typo in my second submission's synopsis (I wrote 'it' instead of 'its'). I must have proofread that thing about 20 times but it still slipped past! Hope it didn't count against me too heavily.

Hope it didn't count against me too heavily. It won't. I made a few typos in my first submission (of this year), and one or two grammatical errors, but they shouldn't be much of an issue. The smallest typos and spelling errors shouldn't have much of an impact on your submission; what they're more concerned about is your writing style and narrative structure. If there are a very few, they are most likely to figure out what you are trying to convey.

Hope it didn't count against me too heavily. I wouldn’t worry, I’ve had typos in studio before now, despite three people reading multiple times!

Any indication as to whether or not they've reached out to the winner or people on the short-list, yet? I would have thought so by now.

This time last year, I hadn't heard back yet. So it's possible they're still undecided.

According to this tweet, e-mails were still going out yesterday-ish. No idea if it's all finished up now though.
