i couldnt find a thread for the first doctor companion chronicles vol 1, and i loved this story, so i had to make a post. i haven't watched much of the first doctor, so to me william russell is my definitive first doctor , followed by peter purves. i also
enjoy some of the susan and grandpa adventures. vicki wasnt even on my radar. i don't know the character im not sure if i even listened to any of her companion chronicles before. i looked at the credits and thought filler so i basically didn't
skip her story while listening to this set. boy was i ever glad i didn't this was the best of the boxset by far. i loved her performance he ditzy lost girl act was terrific. she handled the "switch" with her HR interviewer so perfectly and confidently.
this was a terrific situation to craft a companion chronicle around. the companion being interviewed, being front and center. and the story if anyone of remember many of posts i like my who out in space with amazing or weird places. this fit
the bill. as the story unfolds so does all all of writer ian potter's world building. maureen o'brien handles all her duties, playing vicki, being the main narrator, and all the world building effortlessly here. i also love this type of doctor and
companions. the doctor being the smartest guy in the room and his companion being seasoned and confidant lost in space travelers. i loved how expert vicki sounded when talking about the computer systems and the deliberate sabotage the
state engaged in. also this story was FUN. ms. obrien was so playful with the script she really had me off guard. i did't see what was coming. so i loved this story 5 out 5 from me.
so i did search on big finish website for more ian potter stories. he also wrote the first doctor early adventure the bounty of ceres, which i listened to recently and LOVED. i have a couple of other first doctor stories that i haven't listen to yet, the
alchemists, and the sleeping city. so looking forward to those now.
