Another UNIT team. Bambera's lot are late 80's, the UNIT family was early to mid 70's, UNIT: Dominion is probably 90's and Kate Stewart's lot are present day. I'm going by transmission date for the TV characters, feel free to use another dating system.

But the one I’d like to hear more from is bambera! Angela Bruce came back to Animal in the Lost Stories Season 27. Other than that her only other appearance in Doctor Who I can recall that isn't Battlefield is in the novel Head Games (the one with the cover of Doctor Who pointing a gun a Mel, a novel that's contradicted by the audio A Life of Crime). One-off box sets or releases looking at classic UNIT teams would be interesting, fleshing out the history of UNIT. Give Pete Wilson more to work with than "me wife's got a baby on the way!" That's a concept I'd like to see explored with Torchwood, the different branches across the world. For all that The Dollhouse plays up the Charlie's Angels tone we got to see how a team we didn't know operated. There's also the UNIT staff that appear in Downtime, which are pre-Bambera. One of them is played by Miles Richardson, who appears in the fan movie Dæmos Rising alongside Kate Stewart. That would get April excited.

Battlefield is consistently placed in 1997 and Bambera showed up in Animal set in 2001 so I'd put her team post-Klein. (Also she appeared in The Dying Days alongside McGann, Benny and the Brig) There's also Crichton from The Five Doctors. He seemed to be the Brig's direct successor. I'm surprised Big Finish hasn't brought back Emily Chaudry or any of the Dominion team. But I do wonder if this new medical chap will be joining the Doctor. And if the Doctor will be alone when he arrives...

We have cover, cast and trailer! Looks like a solo Fifth Doctor story, so as far as we know it's set around the same time as Burning Prince and Omega (the final moments of Waters of Amsterdam) or the same time as Cuddlesome and The Gathering while Peri and Erimem are in Monte Carlo for The Veiled Leopard.

I'm really intrigued to see where this one goes. Is it U.N.I.T. pre- or post-Bambera as C.O. as discussed above? The battledress looks modern, so I'm guessing it's set after she was promoted and clearly before the Kate Stewart era.
This is the 'odd-one-out' release for the year of course (not part of the trilogies) and seems it's a solo Doctor story. I'd like to imagine that Medical Officer Hopkins might be the new 'Harry Sullivan' and go travelling for a while. Looking forward to April certainly.

Since Klein is in Warlock's Cross, they're likely all connecting these stories by UNIT teams, would love to see Sixie meet Bambera or Kate in the December release.

Looking forward to this. As I said in the thread about the third series of River Song, having the Fifth Doctor solo is still very much a novelty. And one I’m welcome to hear more from.

I don't know, call me cynical but right now I find it a bit hard to get excited about this based on the whole new UNIT team angle, given Big Finish has a history of introducing new UNIT teams, only for them to quickly fall by the wayside and never be heard from again. I'm sure the story will be enjoyable, Hell, it's by Scott Handcock, so the odds are raised considerably just on that alone, but the whole new UNIT team thing that gets introduced and built up only to never be heard from again after their first adventure(s) are done is just a personal pet peeve of mine. And one that probably doesn't bother anybody else but me, but I felt like throwing it out there all the same.

The Dominion characters didn't feel particularly developed other than Klein, but I was sad to see no Emily Chaudry in future UNIT stories. She should definitely come back if there's a story set in 2004-2006ish (A Ninth Doctor Chronicle??). Oh also I know we're getting a Charlie Sato Short Trip this year but he and Matheson should absolutely show up with either Kate's UNIT team or in a full-cast Eighth Doctor story.

Judging by the synopsis of Hour of the Cybermen this team are coming back with the Sixth Doctor since Blake Harrison is in that as well and it's a UNIT story. I agree on BF with UNIT, with the exception of their team with Chaudhry, Hoffman and the Brig and Kate Stewart's team they haven't been very faithful to supporting casts. The same could be said of the TV series, like who remembers Colonel Mace suddenly being replaced by Colonel Oduya in Torchwood, or Bambera and Crichton fading into obscurity.

That's a totally unfair accusation, I'll have you know that we had Captain Erisa Magambo for... *squints eyes* ...two episodes.
