Okay, I signed up as well. I didn't post a whole lot on the old board but did look at it all the time. I only started posting to that Facebook group out of necessity. I normally don't use Facebook except to play Doctor Who: Legacy. I also set up an account at Gallifrey Base but I was rather hoping for a re-creation of our old Forums, which seems to be the case here.
So I've heard some bad things about free forums, about spamming and obnoxious advertising but I've not seen anything like that yet here. Is there a grace period and then you deluged by it?

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Hi all - I'm ShutUpBanks. I commented a bit on the forums, mostly to disagree with some people about... stuff. Interested to see how the issues with the forum pan out: it was mostly what I visited the BF site for. Anyway, a little about me: I'm 45, married with kids, earliest memory of anything is the end of episode 1 of The Green Death. When people ask me how big a fan I am I tell them, "Well, I did marry a Sarah Jane." Love the show, and lots of the stuff BF has done with it, as well as lots of their other work.
Cheers
Ian

Visiting the BF site feels makes me feel a bit lonely now without the forum, it feels a bit cold and impersonal. Like revisiting a place by yourself which had been full of friends last time you were there but is now empty. I started regularly checking the BF site for BF news but now I find I don't have the same motivation without the forum.

Indeed, I expect I will be buying a lot less from BF, not because of any boycott, but just because I won't be there.

And I also don't think I'll be buying as much, either.

It's like we have been punished because of a few posters inappropriate comments & spam posts which has nothing to do with us, I've lost respect for team Big Finish & there treatment to the loyal fans & customers.

Hello everyone
I was a regular visitor to the the Big Finish forums and an occasional poster. I always enjoyed reading the various entries and was always aware how shallow my knowledge was for all things Doctor Who!
My user name is my initials and my birth year, so although I remember watching Jon Pertwee my Doctor was, and thanks to Big Finish, still is the Fourth Doctor.
I lost interest in Doctor Who when Tom left, but I have re-discovered his successors, thanks once again to Big Finish.
I have been with Big Finish for a very long time. So long that I have had to buy three apothecary chests to house all my CDs.

Hi, finally found this forum after the closing of the BF one. I was only an occasional poster but was there most days to see what was going on.
I am fairly new to Doctor Who even though I am 55, it just wasn't something I found on TV while growing up in Southwest Arizona in the 60's and 70's then I was in the Army and stationed around the world and didn't have time for much TV. I saw my first episode in 2011 with the "The Impossible Astronaut" and fell in love with it. As at this point in my life I was now home all the time and had plenty of free time, I could catch up with what I missed. I figured I only had to watch a few years worth. That is when I found out it had been on since 1963 and I would be watching for quite a while.
After watching all of the new stuff, I started with some of each Doctor, filling in my knowledge and the blanks as I could. Then I found this company called Big Finish. And I went and purchased the 50th Anniversary special. I loved it. I saw they had sales on the main range for the first 50. Bought some of those. Anyway, now I am closing on number 500 for my collection.
So thanks to those that took the time to start this endeavor to replace what BF ended.

Tony here, was on the BF forum for a couple of years (Acoustic-Wolf), but hadn't posted much towards the end (happy to let others say what I thought). I have calmed down a bit, but will be emailing BF to register my disappointment at the sudden closure.
I don't do Facebook, follow a couple of people on Twitter but don't tweet myself. Liked the forums and could keep an eye on them at work (Facebook is banned... Which is fine by me).
I expect I'll miss a lot of the special offers and will be less likely to try different series as I relied on recommendations from the wonderful people on the forum (Counter-Measures being the last big one I tried, and loved).
Hope we find a permanent home (if it's not at BF).
Cheers
Tony

Hi, I found Big Finish about 2 years ago when Light at the End came out. Didn't post much, but was following the forums and enjoyed learning about all the audios I still have to catch up on and what people's opinions were. Nice to see some of the same folks here.
I like Doctor Who, and have tried some other Ranges such as Sherlock Holmes, Classics, Omega Factor, Jago and Litefoot, Bernice Summerfield, and Iris Wildthyme. Just starting on Dorian Gray.

Hello everyone. This is Tim Bradley here (Billy2 to some of you from the Big Finish forum). I was umming and ahing about whether to come here on this 'Not the Big Finish' forum. But after being kindly invited recently by Acoustic Wolf, I felt 'oh what the heck'. So here am I. I might be slow in starting new topics on the Not the Big Finish forum. But I'm sure I'll be re-starting my Nyssa Challenge thread on here soon by the 31st January 2016 for Nyssa's 35th anniversary and posting the Doctors/Companions' timelines soon. Anyway. Hope everyone is well and hope you're glad to see me here. Tim.
