That was only because the Last Adventure Box Set was brought forward though, she was intended to make her first appearance in Criss-Cross. I seem to remember hearing/reading the complete opposite somewhere (honestly can't remember where though). I thought they were always going to release The Last Adventure first as a semi-callback to Mel's out-of-order first appearance in The Trial of a Time Lord, Sixie's previous 'final adventure'? ‘The End of the Line’ in TLA also sounds like Constance's first appearance. In that story, Mrs. Clarke is already intelligent, brave and determined, but although there are a few references to place her as a Second World War WREN from Bletchley Park, I think she’s a slightly more generalised companion than she would soon become and her voice is not yet quite as 'R.P.' as it would be later. So I'm guessing this story was at least recorded before 'Criss-Cross', whatever the intended release order. (And I also believed that TLA was intended to come out first, ahead of that year's Sixie Season.)

I will add to this by saying I've just re-listened to End of the Line along with Constance's first trilogy - and she's definitely played as more familiar with the Doctor in EOTL (and he with her) than in any of the other 2015 stories.
I'd slotted EOTL after Criss-Cross in my listening order, but it felt a bit off - I'd probably place it after Order of the Daleks if I were to listen through again.

Someone official definitely said somewhere that they would have release The Last Adventure earlier in the month than Criss-Cross. I think it was ultimately moved forward to August as September was already a pretty packed month and they wouldn't have been able to release everything before the Big Finish Day otherwise

Hmm an audience introductory story rather then a Companion introductory story.

I love Matthew already - I really, really do. A sweet young man who Six decides to show the universe to? I'm in. Oh, their gentle hearts. Given the darkness in the trailer, is Matthew going to make his chronological debut in the Flip and Constance stories, I wonder?

That all sounds wonderful, a new companion always reveals a new angle to their respective Doctor and makes them feel fresh all over again.
The cover is certainly eye-catching too. I like how psychedelic it is compared with what sounded like quite a dark and moody trailer.
Very much looking forward to this!

Constance was OK because the proper introductory story was released very quickly after her first appearance.
I hope Mathew's proper introduction is not far away

Not only is Matthew not on the cover, but only Colin has top billing and George Sear is relegated to 'featuring'. That would strongly imply Matthew isn't sticking around for long.

We're already expecting Six's life out of sequence, so for me, it's a fun tease

And Flip and Mel. I think it's a great idea and they had me at this line: "think of him as a cross between Steven Taylor and Harry Sullivan." That's quite a description for any chap to live up to, best of luck Mathew. Positive lightning has always struck with Sixie's audio companions - Evelyn, Flip, Constance, all different and all brilliant in their different ways so the omens are good and I hope he'll be around for a while. We will of course also need extra Sixie stories so we dont miss out on more adventures with Constance and Flip, when possible. And more with Peri and Mel and in fact just give that top Doctor a story a month please BF! (Interesting that we now have two Doctors each getting a new male companion two months running in the MR. And both with medical connections, which is very curious. Add in Hex and it gets curiouser, that's one medic for each MR Doctor (best not to mention Cole in TWM, not the happiest of comparisons but he was also a medical ship pilot.) Either the Web of Time is playing a recurring trick or someone somewhere thinks a male companion is a 'safe' choice if he's a medic rather than some rough tough engineer, soldier, teacher, miner, stylist, sculptor, cleric, writer, fashion designer, programmer, spacelane traffic controller, hyper-duct plumber, nutrition-pill chef, ambient sleep composer, bio-dome oxy-horticulturalist, etc. etc. ... we aren't all medically trained you know BF lol! )
