It’s a shame for her, but it’s embarrassing the utter nonesense these commentators talk about it and the rest of the events. but it’s not corruption, you can clearly see the two incidents that caused the yellow card. Can you? I watched the replays they showed yesterday and all I saw was Elise Christie accidentally elbowing other skaters as she was trying to get in front. yes....the two incidents were moved on the underside and pushed to get into position, and pushed the one in front......both were deemed as unsafe skating which is why she got a yellow card. she should never have been allowed to skate, her injury and pain impaired her decision making.

I wouldn't say they are corrupt, they just have access to different angles than what Korean television was showing (which is what we got most of)
But based on what WE saw, I agree she shouldn't have had a yellow card
I'm surprised she's still talking about competing in the next Winter Olympics. I'd be tempted to just call it a day after the bad luck Elise has had. Why surprised? She's an olympian. They don't give up, they eventually retire.

They don't give up, they eventually retire. She seems quite fragile and unable to cope with the pressure. Reminds me of Iain Lee when he was on I'm A Celeb - wonder if Elise Christie is suffering from mental health issues?

Mental health issues?! I would say that those were more down to her injury.

Mental health issues?! I would say that those were more down to her injury. Actually, she seemed quite fragile to me when she was shown in the first speed skating at the Korea Olympics. Does make you wonder, but then I know absolutely nothing about psychology and I'm no psychiatrist so this is just the ramblings of a random person online. Her mannerisms on TV just came across quite similar to Iain Lee's to me, and we know he suffers with his mental health.

I'm only stating an opinion formed from the posts presented in front of me and when I read from someone seemingly articulate but with zero knowledge about the games and rules complaining that they're being completely unfair and corrupt (only when it comes to Team GB, mind) when the whole world is watching, also plucking from thin air and projecting mental health problems onto an athlete whom clearly wasn't at the peak of her performance due to an injury, I'll say something.

Okay, but what is the need to be so needlessly rude to DB. Whether he is wrong or right, whether you agree with him or not, there is no need for you to be condescending. Dalekbuster has always treated you with respect and all you do his talk down to him. It also says something when the majority of your posts are ones that are looking to call him out and that your tagline for your profile is there to mock DB for something he has said in the past. Edit: I should also be clear that it isn't just you that does this, there is a core group of you that do this and you guys know who you are.

I may come across as a little blunt but I'm afraid that's my own personality, I express things and say things the way they are, I've always been like that with people. If someone is wrong, I'll respectfully tell them straight, if they challenge it with incorrect or lesser knowledge or negative connotations, I'll probably call them out on it in hope that they might go away with a better perspective from the facts. If they get cocky, only then will I decide to go to their level. I see quotes from people quite often in their sigs, however, I have now removed the tagline.

The women's curling team were hopeless in the end, but we got a brilliant bronze from Billy Morgan in the snowboarding. Amazing how he came from nowhere to steal third place. A proper underdog move.

I came of extremely rude and condescending to you, which was very hypocritical of me. I do want to say I do enjoy your thoughts on movies and TV. I will more than happily delete my comment if you would like.

Having not really been all that bothered at the start am surprised how much I've got into the winter olympics. Womens figure skating was great. Though am baffled by the scoring as thought Evgenia Medvedeva should have got the gold. Also really enjoyed both the mens and womens curling. Think Team GB women were unlucky not to get bronze.

So today I discovered a spectacular snowboarding event called 'Big Air' and guess what, we won the bronze! Congratulations Billy Morgan - 5 medals for Team GB making it our most successful Winter Olympics ever. (Possibly tied with 2014 depending on place/medal upgrades from Sochi.) The commentary team were excellent too and I learned enough that next time someone pulls off 'a Bloody Dracula' I'll be nodding sagely lol! (Yes, that really is a move and a very difficult one apparently. )

The closing ceremony was quite spectacular, although I'm a little disappointed PSY didn't make an appearance.
Seriously, Korea? You're hosting the Olympics and you don't get your most famous star in either the opening or closing ceremony?

Another superb opening ceremony. It looked even colder than the first ceremony!

Another superb opening ceremony. It looked even colder than the first ceremony! I completely forgot the opening ceremony was even today. Strangely it seems like the Winter Paralympics has a lot less buzz than the main Winter Olympics or the Summer Olympics/Paralympics; weird given that what the disabled athletes manage to achieve is a lot more impesssive and takes much more skill due to their unfortunate limitations.
