One of the USA's founding fathers, Gouverneur Morris, was a partying bro who chugged booze and slept with other men's wives. Yep, he's American alright.
(Though, on a less facetious note, he was a master orator, anti-slavery and helped contribute to the Constitution).

Today I learned that Big Finish call the 4th Doctor Adventures " full-cast audiobooks". Weird.

Today I learned that campanology refers to the art of bell ringing.

Today I learned that Bananaman has been a staple of the Beano for some time now. Probably only relevant for a certain number of people of a certain age but am I the only one who finds that strange? He was always a Dandy character when I was a boy.

Nice to learn that he is still going strong though. Quite a good shelf life.

I must admit I stopped reading the Beano and the Dandy a long time ago but sometimes I like to skim through a new issue just out of curiosity. Always interesting seeing what characters stay and what seem to vanish with the times.

Today I learnt that the one thing I really, really miss from the old normal is being able to just stand and chatter away with total strangers I might meet on my daily walk... a quick hello at a distance is no longer cutting it, frankly.
It's taken a while to actually admit that. So you lot will have to do. Sorry about that.

And he wasn't the only one. The former Governor of California seems to have history with the KGB also...

...via Ebay that I'd massively underestimated the appeal of a Big Finish range from fifteen years ago.
Or to be more precise, I've massively underestimated the enduring popularity of a certain Mr David Warner...🤦♂️

Sapphire and steel by any chance? Spot on. Yikes just checked the prices, there usually isn’t any on but atm they have the seasons for 250 each! You could get like 3 mcgann boxset bundles for that price. The only time i ever think its okay to obtain media through alternative means is in situations like this, when something is literally unavailable. Its such a shame so much media is unobtainable by many because it oop or there a legal reason why. All those bbc and virgin doctor who books? Spend 10 times the rrp for it. Want to listen to some stargate audios? Sure, got a spare £200. Its so frustrating as someone who wants to experience these stories the only options are to pay someone selling them marked up from what they are worth or go other routes and neither option is great (not blaming bf or anyone i know things like this happen but still, in the 21st century with so many streaming services and ways to access media, the fact there is still books and tv shows and audios that aren't easily accessible is just strange)

Despite knowing their value, I unwrapped the remaining ones to rip a digital copy - it seemed crazy that they did not have DL rights and were not able to sell off the remaining stock either. It was not as if it was a hot property on the market with the rights holders. Good revival though - two high profile leads and of those I have listened to at least, in the spirit and scope of the original series, which was eclectic itself. I have oft looked them up myself in the hope of picking up a sensible sale, but no luck so far.

I did my homework, worked out what I thought was a reasonable price for each one factoring in the Christmas bonus I was due to receive, added a bit extra and stuck my maximum bid in. This afternoon I watched my entire buying strategy go up in flames. Annoyingly I suspect some of those titles will reappear at a later date either on Ebay or Amazon at hyper inflated prices (Amazon seller prices are something else). And yes, currently I have on the watch list the seller who is advertising all three series for a wallet gouging £750. Hell would have to freeze over first before I pay that, but curiosity is making wonder who will break first - the seller or a potential buyer..
