For anyone wanting to get into the show before, or because of liking, the audios - there's absolutely insanely good prices from Network for the two Callan sets in the big Thames50 sale. Only 21 hours left in the sale at time of posting so don't miss out.
Finally got this as Vol 2 release has at last been confirmed and its really quite good
Miller and Skinner are a near flawless double act. The tone and pacing is right, Jane Slavin gives Liz a believable take on strong but nurturing, I like Tam Williams take on Meyers more eager for the job and slightly more respect for Callan,
So who's that leave? Nick Briggs as Hunter whose take i didn't get till the last episode wouldn't work in the TV Series than, possibly in in a TV re-launch now it would (only compliant we should've heard a Hunter / Petrov conversation.)
Hopefully then now there's only a few weeks to Vol 2.

I was disappointed that the climax of “File on a Mourning Mother” relies on something Callan saw but didn’t mention (the look on someone’s face), which within an audio framework means “it didn’t happen”.
An excellent series. When you can't have Edward Woodward and Russell Hunter, Ben Miles and Frank Skinner are excellent replacements. I also like that these are adaptations from written stories, not the TV show, making them brand new to a lot of my generation with black and white memories who didn't take Sunday newspapers.
MISSY: We’ve had a long history of treating creation like dogs treat lamp posts. CRISPY: And you wanted to see if we could do better.
