It's on bigfinish.com though. I don't know, there's nothing about it that screams fake to me. It's probably not the final version. Guys, we really shouldn't go digging around in directories for this sort of stuff. But that isn't typically what Big Finish does. It is either a placeholder image or the release's final art work. If this is the image up on the site, chances are this is what it will look like.

So it is still a placeholder. Good, then that could easily be a fan made image.

I can't understand the confusion in my mind, etc.

I just cant get excited about this one. I can sort of understand Jenny (sort of) but not Lady Christina de Souza. It is starting to feel like ANYTHING they can make a range out of they will.

While I really do understand what you mean, there will come a time when we have no Big Finish. Nothing lasts forever. And I can't help thinking we'll look back over the years and reminisce about how good we had it.

Series one? Interesting... And a Sontaran, doubly interesting... I do kinda wish that they hadn't had both Sylvia and the Slitheen back again in this - seems a little too close considering both are returning in 10DC too, but that's a minor niggle, I suppose. All new ranges get that now, in case there's demand for a second volume.

Tales from New Earth was a pleasant surprise, so I'm open minded on this. The new writers are interesting.
I wonder if Big Finish can renegotiate the Doctor Who licence in regards to prose releases. Because BBC Books have dropped the ball on that front and an anthology release with various characters might be a good way to test the waters on who might get a viable audio series before committing to a box set.

Ok after seeing that cover I might be convinced.
Michelle Ryan was rumoured to be the Tenth Doctor's new companion before we knew Tennant was leaving, plus this looks like an RTD nostalgia fest!!

New Earth, Jenny and The Chronicles are the only bf new series things I haven't ordered but might pick up the Ninth Doctor one purely for Jackie.

Not immediately grabbed by this. This is probably exacerbated by the BF Originals range - I'm keen to see BF explore new things more than create new box sets/series based on one-off characters from the new series. On the other hand, they do need to have reliable sources of income to do the riskier original series and I guess this is one way. I'll wait and see if my enthusiasm kicks up a notch between now and the release of this one

I was intrigued as i love the character & would've been a great companion for the Doctor, how the inclusion of the Slitheen has put me off getting this as i detest them.

I'd imagine the Tenth Doctor, Torchwood and the UNIT releases are going done VERY well and Jenny is a gurranted hit and that's been enough to experiment with the Big Finish originals. The Lady Christina box set strikes me more that Big Finish tapped into something very intresting when revamping the character for the Tenth Doctor Chronicles and decided to take her to series.

Positives: there’s plenty of scope for the writers to work with in regards to Christina as a character. She’s practically a blank slate with only one television story (don’t know if her comic strip appearance will be factored in) she’s appeared in, so there’s very little to contradict. Christina has motive to travel around, good way to explore locations around the Earth. Unlike Vienna she’s not as willing to kill and shouldn’t have the memory issues Vienna keeps encountering. Basically the writers can give her more depth and are free to do it however they want and remain consistent with her portrayal in Planet of the Dead. There’s nothing to prevent stories set before that, playing down the alien element, or at least not making Christina aware of the alien element as being alien.
And it’s more characterisation to work with than with Jenny.

Or something like Inception, where Christina has to infiltrate layers of the mind or the world around her and get out again when things invariably go wrong. In her profession she needs to circumnavigate obstacles to reach her goal, so the mind or reality itself present obvious challenges.
