The cover has been updated to reflect the new logo change. I really like it actually, it’s subtle and not as intrusive. I’ve always felt that the likes of River Song and UNIT have such a strong and established history in Doctor Who anyway that having such a large “From the Worlds of Doctor Who” logo feels unnecessary, so I’m guessing they’ll change at some point. www.bigfinish.com/releases/v/lady-christina-1829Eh, I don't like it. It's barely noticiable. I know this release has a Slitheen and a Sontaran on the cover, but Lady Christine the title doesn't really tell an audience it's a Doctor Who release.

I'm struggling to imagine what audience you think BF have that would look at that cover and not know it's Who-related. Donna's mum, a Sontaran, a Slitheen, the title being the name of a guest star who featured in the opening credits....it's not as though BF are designing these releases for total Who-novices who would be baffled at those pictures. Their model has always been preaching to the choir, in this case people already invested somewhat in New Who.

It doesn't hurt to make it a little more obvious that it's a Doctor Who releases. Neither The Sontarans or the Slitheen are Doctor Who for a lot of people, either, as opposed to the Daleks or Cybermen and Sylvia was last seen nearly a decade ago. Look, I'm really looking forward to what Big Finish is going to do here, I really am, it just doesn't look like a Doctor Who release to me if I didn't know anything about Big Finish.

I think the kind of people who go into those shops - Forbidden Planet being the obvious one - would know exactly what those elements are and even if they don't - it literally says From The Worlds Of Doctor Who on the cover. I'm really not sure there's an issue with that. I'd say the bigger issue is that it's a design nightmare which looks like something a first year in Computer Aided Design would cobble together. Titan would never release a comic with a cover as amateur as that.

In very small print, though, right near the bottom left hand corner. Big Finish doesn't just appear in speciality shops, though or so I'm told. Isn't Waterstones a major franchise? It's not immedietly noticiable.

There used to be a tiny amount of BF in my local Waterstones, but only actual DW stuff - main range stories, 4DAs and a War Doctor set. Lately it seems to have disappeared entirely, and even my local Forbidden Planet has scaled back a lot.

I'm Australian, we don't have the franchise, so I'm completely clueless on how extensive Waterstones is. My impression is that there a major chain?

WH Smith maybe, but I’ve not seen many Waterstones’ in my life.

It's a fairly big chain but I rarely see Big Finish stuff there, usually a couple of Main Range audios at most.

The most BF I've seen in a Waterstones was the full War Doctor series plus a couple of MRs in the massive, two floor Waterstones by Liverpool One.

I mean its simplistic but so so so much better than the original which was arguably the worst, not even big finish, album cover ive ever saw. Glad they changed it.

It was better than The Highest Science, which looks more like the photoshopped sidebar covers for the early Main Range stories that fans have produced.

Oh, no - it's a lot worse than The Highest Science cover - that at least had symetry, a central design feature and consistent image sizes and quality. It's gone now anyway.

Back to the dark places of the inside or wherever. I'm liking the logo quite a bit. It's got a nice Miss Marple meets Jules Verne kind of vibe going on with it.

What a difference! I'm wavering on whether I'll get this one. Got to admit the cover had been a factor in favour of "don't bother". New cover is tipping the scales the other way...
