Oh yes! A spooky pseudo-historical in Olde London with Olde Sixie and the Brunels. I saw a programme about the construction of their Thames tunnel a few years ago - I can't imagine a much spookier setting for a Doctor Who "ghost" story and the history is fascinating too.

I... The look on The Eighth Doctor - The Time War: Series 2 works. It does. On this... it really doesn't do anything for me at all It looks very, very generic, with nothing to really make it stand out as Big Finish anymore. The sidebar was great for making the products look very distinctive, but this looks like it could be made by anyone. I'm sure it'll grow on me (I'm always a bit adverse to "big" changes), but this one is definitely going to take me a while.

I'll do the usual and Reverse the Cover but I agree the new Logo looks like is either going to really suit a Cover (like on Time War 2) or like on this be a bit so so.

It's sad to see the sidebar go, but I can see how it wouldn't have worked with the new logo and it had a good run.

I think this cover has been designed with the sidebar in mind, and that may be why Colin looks a little isolated in the middle of it all. Could be wrong, though. I had thought the logo might be stacked and the sidebar retained, but it seems not. I think this looks okay, and still think the new logo lends things a more cinematic look. When the artwork in the future is designed with the the fuller look in mind, I think it will all look great.

I didn't mind it until the last year or so and Tom W started sharing versions without it somewhere particularly the ones for 5th Doc oddly enough.

I love the new logo and that the TV show is the flagship and as I said on the Eighth Doctor thread, I want Big Finish and Titan to look relevant, but it really wasn't designed in mind for non-DVD/Blu-Ray releases at all and the return to the open look (the sidebar look was one of the best changes made under Nick) doesn't give the customer giving the release a quick glance in the bookstore or speciality shop a good idea of the nature of the release. Many, I'd imagine, would assume it's an original audiobook release.

I'm with you, it defiantly looks like it wasn't designed for the new logo in mind and looks like Big Finish has been told to implement the new logo earlier then planned. It's a real shame the cover artist's art has gone to waste.

If there's a plus side, Hour of the Cybermen's cover will look appropiatetly epic....

To coin a phrase... 'yuk!' (And I'm not talking about the coat! Or the cover illustration of course, I like that a lot.) But the more I see of the new logo stuck across established ranges, the less I like it and the less it says 'Doctor Who' to me. OK for the new-new series since they want to rebrand, but not across everything else. (I'll admit it's not the first time I've felt like this; the Seventh Doctor logo never appealed either, while the other various era-specific logos all looked OK to me at the time.) And removing the sidebar means the cover no longer shouts 'Big Finish' from ten feet away, which is a shame. The unique & recognisable style for CD artwork was a great idea imo. Although I suppose we will be getting fewer separate CDs in future and more multi-CD jewel case releases, so the sidebar would have been seen less frequently anyway.

It still looks rather nice, the gold of the logo giving a further vibrancy to the colour.

For me, the artwork doesn't suit the open look, despite being carefully expanded and handled.

Two points on new covers: - Will the Jenny boxset be rejigged to use the new logo? - Will the Companion Chronicles boxset use the new logo?
If the answer to both is "yes", then we have a complete changeover by June (barring the Short Trips).

If the answer to both is "yes", then we have a complete changeover by June (barring the Short Trips). Can't see why not. I do think they'll be given a MUCH better overhaul then what we've seen here, though. As I said before, I think Big Finish were probably pushed into using the new logo early. They were probably on the same timeline as the novelisation audiobooks. I don't think the Short Trips releases are going to exempt, either and we'll have new look for the range.

Actually looking closer they've gone with "Big Finish We Love Stories" instead of "Big Finish Productions".
"We Love Stories" is a fun tagline for fans but whether its an effective revenue generating Brand Slogan I not sure.
