youtu.be/stWJXbVNZeQCouncil of Geeks Take Two Doctor Who Review: Into the Dalek A lot of interesting points made in this review! They brought up something I had been thinking about recently how Danny might have come across better if he wasn’t Clara’s love interest but a character in his own right. I have often thought that myself because I like both Clara and Danny but not as a couple. Clara, regardless on anyone’s stance on romance in Doctor Who, definitely has better and more believable chemistry with 12 than she does with Danny. Danny has an interesting dynamic as with 12 but nearly every time he has a scene with Clara I want them to break up. Danny and Clara just don’t have a spark as a couple. It’s hard to describe why Danny and Clara don’t work for me as a couple but they just don’t. Danny is an interesting character and plays a former soldier turned teacher very well and has some truly touching scenes. I kind of think it would have been interesting if Danny was a regular some what reluctant companion to 12 and see them butt heads and have Danny and Clara just be strictly platonic friends and co companions. Keep the same backstory and personality. That way we could have see Danny more as a fully formed character with even more development than just a love interest. They also discussed 12’s dislike of soldiers and how in seems to come out of the blue. I am in of two minds about this I think it makes sense in the sense that 12 was not only traumatized by not only the Time War but the Battle of Trenzelore as well, plus the Doctor’s hatred of guns. On the other hand like they bring up in the review, the Doctor has been willing to work with UNIT post time war and that includes soldiers. I think 12’s treatment of Danny illustrates his anti soldier beliefs better than Into the Dalek, because it shows how in a way he sees an aspect of himself in the former soldier Danny. I also agree with the estimation that Into The Dalek recycled a lot of ideas from Dalek and Let’s Kill Hitler. Dalek’s influence I noticed right away but I had forgotten about the shrinking aspect in let’s kill Hitler. An interesting review, and once again I love the 12 cosplay they wear for these reviews!😊

A little thing called Doctor Who - Dimensions in Time.
More monsters, companions and Doctors crammed into 20 minutes than many would have thought possible - or even advisable. This two part 'Children in Need' story was aired back in 1993 and reached 13 million viewers. I'll say that again. It reached 13 million viewers - and raised a bucket load of cash for charity. I remember the more vocal fans of the time hating it - just as they hated everything else, it seemed. But it remains great fun, and terrific to see The Sixth Doctor and The Brigadier meet at last (this is before Big Finish of course), Mike Yates go careering through a crowded Albert Square in Bessie, Romana 2 say 'Doctor Who?', the Rani and her good looking young male companion share a scene with the heads of the Second and Third Doctors, and The Fifth Doctor yelling 'This way' one final time, while his companions Nyssa and Peri headed off in the other direction.
All nonsense of course, but hugely entertaining nonsense - and that's Doctor Who in a nutshell, surely!

My favourite part of the entire thing is watching the clearly inebriated or at least shaking off a hangover Sylvester McCoy.

My favourite part of the entire thing is watching the clearly inebriated or at least shaking off a hangover Sylvester McCoy. I very much enjoyed the viewer participation draw of getting people to phone up to vote for either Mandy or Big Ron to rescue the Doctor. In a spoiler, Mandy won - and the result was, the character turned up and said to The Rani, "What d'you think you're doing? Leave her alone," and that was it!
Still love it though.

Spent the last hour with this on in the background on a loop. Helps the spring (or presumably at this point nearly Autumnal) cleaning simply fly by. m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnSbrx5YByYOn a side note, I know Dalton’s portrayal of Bond has its detractors but I’ve always loved his darker portrayal. It’s a Bond one can argue that we needed and fit right in for the sensibilities and time of the ‘80s.

Nightworkers (Louise Doughty) Been listening to this spooky tale regarding two workers in the Underground. Despite some great dialogue, there is unfortunately very little action and if truth be told hardly anything of interest occurs. I’ll still post the link if anyone is interested. m.youtube.com/watch?v=WZjCEMj130c

youtu.be/VyVRbFcOUHcMaureen and David’s Superman Dance off-Psychoville So funny story: One of my British relatives sent me funny videos of his daughters recreating old 90’s dances they used to do growing up and the first one they did I recognized immediately as the dance routine the Sowerbutts do in Psychovile!🤣 I never realized that it was a real dance! I just thought it was a silly dance routine they made up for the David and Maureen to do!🤣 The Glasgow Style youtu.be/5-DqqwXb0jMExtremely 1980s style and fashion documentary hosted by a very young Peter Capaldi😁 The opening sequence of Peter trying to do his best sexy walk down the street to the song “Staying Alive” complete with popped collar is kind of hilarious while also being kind of bad ass😄😉 Also why does every time he’s on screen in this look and sound like he’s flirting with the camera?!😳😁😉 Also did I mention this is incredibly ‘80s because it’s incredibly’80s!👨🏻🎤😁

The Haunted Mansion Story www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFqFfQjXMWk&t=807sAn interesting little oddity produced by DisneyLand in the sixties. I believe it was produced to tie in with their new (at least at the time) attraction The Haunted Mansion. Basically a short story which involved two teenagers touring the Haunted Mansion. This version I found is accompanied by illustrations of the famous ride to help better visualise and follow the story.

Hello again. You've probably seen Benjamin Cook's trailer for Season 10's Bluray collection, so compare and contrast our time-travelling hero with the martini-swilling, Time Lord agent of the Celestial Intervention Agency and latterly Britain's MI6. First The dashing Third Doctor as played by Jon Pertwee working with UNIT. www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuWtze6zT6sThen The dashing Mr Bond, as played by Daniel Craig on assignment for MI6.
Although the last legend should read, "James Bond has always regenerated." The song is Until the World Ends Martin Carlberg featuring Lollo Gardtman

m.youtube.com/watch?v=7eJ8h6aaCY4&t=923sA documentary on the Marquis de Sade. Yeah, this is one historical figure who I doubt will feature in a historical adventure any time soon. Heard good things about ‘The Man in the Velvet Mask’ though.
