www.bigfinish.com/news/v/doctor-who-lost-stories-offerYou can use the code to get 60% off all releases (bundles have already been altered to compensate for this). They've also introduced a "Lost Stories Bonus Bundle" that includes all 4 series + Philip Hinchcliffe Presents: Volume 1! You can also purchase it on its own with the 60% code, and at that price it's an absolute steal!

Anyone care to share any thoughts on the two 4th Doctor sets? (surprised there are only 2 4th Doctor lost stories considering Baker was in the role for 7 years under 3 different producers...)

For me those two sets are still the best Fourth Doctor on audio and right up there with the very, very best of his TV era. Two absolutely essential buys. (I rate PHP1 as the best of all BF ever, so I would say that wouldn't I!) Is this offer also applicable to the 2nd and 3rd volumes of Phillip Hinchcliffe Presents? No, because they are new stories created for BF rather than unmade TV stories.

Anyone care to share any thoughts on the two 4th Doctor sets? (surprised there are only 2 4th Doctor lost stories considering Baker was in the role for 7 years under 3 different producers...) Lost Stories Boxset is one of the best BF Boxsets ever, Foe from the Future is a perfect story.
PHP Vol 1 Ghosts of Geaylstead is very good The Devil's Armada though I love, Tom Baker is "On it" to the Max.
As to why there were so few unused scripts to begin with Holmes, Hinchclife and Williams all seemed to know what made a good script or what needed adjusting to make a good script, so very little unused.

Agree, Devil's Armada is fantastic, best of the lot imo! (Foe and Gralstead very very close.) There were far more 'unmade' Fourth Doctor stories than I realised but only a few got to final scripts stage before being scrapped. I would have loved to hear 'The Lost Legion' especially. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_unmade_Doctor_Who_serials_and_films#Fourth_DoctorBut many of the commissioned storylines were more 'officially complete' than some of the ones BF did pick up and develop for the Second Doctor.

The first series of Lost Stories with 6 & Peri has some great stories as well and should not be dismissed. And yes, the 4th Doctor Lost Stories box set is all that and a bag of chips.

And if we're looking for favourites from the other seasons, then (allowing only one per Doctor), these are mine: First: 2.1 Farewell, Great MacedonSecond: 4.3 Lords of the Red PlanetThird: 4.4 The Mega (yes, it's the only Third Lost Story and yes it's too long, but he's my Doctor so it's in! ) Fifth: 3.3 The Children of SethSixth: 3.6 The First SontaransSeventh: 2.3 Thin Ice
And there are loads more I might include. It really was a great project that BF undertook with these and the quality is excellent.

the first sontarans excellent
from the second doctor i recommend rosmariners, lords of the red planet ive listened to both several times the queen of time bored me but if you need something to help you sleep...
the first doctor the dark planet and the masters of luxor are both very very good
i picked up earth aid today because i like beth charmers and i have the other 2 crime of the century and animal i think the bad reviews are quite fair

Lost Stories were my first Big Finish sale, I bought the whole bundle and have never regretted it - a number of very noteworthy items like the 4th Doctor stories but every one probably has something good going for it. I'm also quite fond of the 1st Doctor Stories, and believe it or not the whole run of 7th Doctor stories also - actually very nice to have a few of something a little different for Seven.

Got them all now! Only bought various individual releases and boxsets, over the past few years, while they were on offer (e.g. The First Sontarans for £2.99 - as part of the monthly Listeners). Really disappointed that the range came to an end, with The Mega, but I do hope they'll revive it in similar way to The Companion Chronicles. Who knows?
